My Granny’s Best Advice

27 Feb

When people think of you differently because they’ve only heard one side of the story and took no trouble to hear yours – bake cookies.

When all the many great you’ve done gets no credit or recognition, instead the flaws exposed – have a cookie and bite into it gently.

When people see no gratefulness for what you’ve done – have a cookie and savour its sweet taste.

When it hurts, seek solace in GOD for HE is the only one who listens and can comfort you – have a piece of cookie. Or maybe even two.

As you drift into a peaceful slumber, just know HE looks out for you, HE takes care of you, HE is on your side and it’s all that matters. Have no doubt and then have a cookie. Dipped in milk if you must.

Judgements can be a bother, judgements can bring you down, but that’s how the cookie crumbles.

We have a choice. To let the cookie crumble or let it be as warm and inviting as a cookie should be. But do know, even a cookie isn’t perfect, with crumbs falling off occasionally.

Don’t let their judgement or what they think distract you, because HE sees the truth and knows all. Remember, only GOD can judge you and NO ONE else.

M&M cookies anyone?

P.s: I miss her and there’s never a day that goes by without thinking of her. It was her best advice to me.

Addition To The Collection

26 Feb

I don’t know which one is more exciting – the fact that my husband will be back soon OR the arrival of my new babies.

Ok Baby Marc & Baby Tommy wins. Coz they’re new :)

After waiting patiently for 10 days, tracking them online almost every day – they finally arrived today from USA.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Sold out in stores and of solid black which means practicality that can be lugged everywhere I go. Technically, my husband sort of got it for me since I sold off the WRONG Guess bag he suprised me to fund this baby. To think I lugged it around for a year because I didn’t want to hurt his feelings by telling him the truth. Eventually did, and now that the bag is gone, hellllooo Marc! Mommy is going to carry you everywhere she goes.

Tommy Hilfiger XL Bag

Love this to bits because it’s EXTRA LARGE and it’s TH’s 2009 collection. Now I can fit everything into this bag. Joy oh joy.

On a happy high despite the gloomy weather.

What a nice thing to come back to after a hard day at work :) I totally deserve this.

I also think I deserve the LV Batignolles Horizontal bag but yea, that’s a different story altogether.

Cajun Pasta

25 Feb

Found this recipe online which claimed to be a copy cat of the delicious Chilli’s Cajun Pasta. Being a sucker for their pasta (and TGIFs) I just HAD to try it. The end results came out good but can’t help feel that the copy-cat claim was a tad over.

Ok la it was still good, just not what I was hoping it would be.

Ingredients:

Penne as much as you wish
Boneless skinless chicken breast
Cajun Seasoning (Buy McCormicks)
3 tablespoon butter
½ tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups half-and-half (means equal parts milk and thickened cream)
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper
2 small tomatoes

Directions:

1. Bring a pot of salted water to boil. Cook penne and set aside.

I opted to do the chicken first so:

2. Pound chicken and then slice into tiny bite size. Rub enough Cajun seasoning evenly over chicken. I also added some chopped garlic for more flavour. Warm oil and cook chicken. Set aside.

For sauce:

Melt butter on pan. Add flour and stir for a minute. Add half-and-half, stir until thick or approximately 4-5 minutes. Add in parmesan, salt and pepper and stir for a few seconds. Don’t panic if the sauce appears thick or lumpy -keep adding more milk until desired consistency is achieved.

In a bowl toss pasta with sauce. Top up with chicken and sliced tomatoes and now you’re ready to eat.

Easy kan?

Girls Night Out

23 Feb

I had the bestest girl’s night out with Wylane on Friday. To be honest, it was my FIRST night out partying without my husband around :)

Picked her up and adjourned to TGIF at The Curve for dinner and drinks first. I even made reservations for two ok :) Wonder what the hostess thought when she saw two females showing up instead of a couple – heh, at least we got the booth table!

We both opted for the same food and drinks that night

Parmesan Chicken

Caught up on alot of things, views and of course gossip.

Captured texting my husband :) No wait, I think this was Dheeraj, heh.

I think the waiter purposely took the picture in such an angle to capture Wylane’s ample cleavage, muahaha. Flaunt what you have, no?

Then we adjourned to Laundry Bar. Place was d-e-a-d (signs of recession I tell you), bummer for us coz couldn’t cuci mata :p Anyho, with most of the couples sitting outside, we were the only ones inside the bar.(I told you we should have gone to KL)

Cracked our heads what to order, and we finally settled for the Long Island Tower

Bangla guy kept insisting its too much for 2 people. We ignored him. And when it finally arrived, we were cracking our heads and trying to figure out how to finish up 2.5 litres of LIT.

Then Bangla said, comee I take picture for you ma’am….he must have sensed our fondness for the camera.

Wylane managed to get the attention of one Ah Beng. His friend came up and passed her a drink.

He even stuck his name and number on it. Cheeky little guy. But she didn’t recripocate coz she loves her Jove soooo much :)

Who joined us later and looked like he wanted to bash the guy up. Kidding.

Everyone say awwww…..

Of course, she spent the night cam-whoring so all pictures credit to her :) I can’t decide which ones to put up!

*Look I wore my engagment ring*

Can you feel the love tonight?

And then there’s me texting my handsome prince just to see if he was having as much fun in Manila as I was :)

I swear I wasn’t checking anyone out

Woman getting all chummy with the tower ;)

And this one’s just for the waiter- we accomplished it. And it’s bloody watered down faham?

Because the woman loves me THIS much, she and Jove trailed me home just to make sure I arrive home safely. Lots of sickos in this world these days.

Thank you SO much guys, I had tons of fun and couldn’t have asked for a perfect evening.

We’ll do more of this in the future for sure :)

Understanding The Males

22 Feb

Someone is missing home, a lot!

He sounded really tired over the phone and said things are very boring with nothing much to do. So I jokingly asked if it reminded him of his single hood * big grin*

Wifey scores: 1

OK I was dead serious about it.

He also wanted to know how come since getting there, he’s always the first one to text me. (And mind you, that question despite exchanging at least 6-7 emails during working hours ok)

Sometimes I swear – men are more manja-fied than women BUT they won’t admit it.

And I said – if you miss me just say you miss me. Afterall the fact that he’s waiting for my text messages first confirms it.

Men and their egos – it’s so hard to get something mushy out of them. Sure it happens, but quite often, not as much as you wish it would. It’s always the woman who has to make the first attempts.

Why are men built that way?

But I’ll tell you, when it comes to sex, men are champions at initiating it. In a flesh, literally.

Now if only they can apply that to mushiness – imagine how many arguments would not have to take place, how many women will be happy 365 days a year, including during those dreaded PMS phase.

The world would be a much better place, don’t you think so?

Totally Random:

Does he not remind you of a gremlin? :)
