Girls Night Out @ TSB, Bangsar

28 Mar

Hey you, how was your Friday night? Thought I heard you yell TGIF TGIF once every hour at the office.

No wait, that was me :)

Fridays are simply the best – always do my little count downs to 5pm because that’s when they let the slaves out where I work.

On the other hand, I’m damn convinced Murphy loves me. Evidence of Murphy moments as follows:

1) I prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, because when it rains KL gets absolutely f*cked. And just 10 minutes before freedom was achieved, it bloody rained cats and dogs resulting in a 1.5 hours journey back home.

2) Since I loved the blue dress from my previous post so much, I decided to get the SAME one in black from the online blog. As I excitedly put it on for my night out, I noticed the length was much more shorter. FUG you Murphy, not the dress too! Ended up wearing the blue one, like as if I don’t already have enough clothes. Hmm, maybe I don’t.

3) Bloody hair frizzed up because the air was damp. Even a 20 seconds walk to the car was hair suicide. Boo.

4) Thought I would be smart to use B’fields rather than the Federal Highway and found out the hard way that both roads were equally screwed. Oh and if you did see a Perak registered vehicle making an illegal offence by going through a no entry road and against the flow of traffic – that bitch would be me in attempts of using a short-cut so I could make it on time for Happy Hour.

But ocassionally that bastard Murphy does love me because I found a car park just opposite TSB :)

Ok enough rantings, let’s get on with pictures. This was a reunion with Siew Chen, an ex-classmate who’s now a SIA air-stewardess. Eee jealousnye with all her travels. The last I saw her was a good 5 years back? It was so easy to pick up where we left and had just a blast of a night. Girls night out are always fun ;)

The ex-MSGians, MGS….arise and sing, sing and let your voices ring, yea something along those lines.

The dinner for the night:

And the drinks :)

2 jugs of Long Island Tea and 1 jug of Mojito to help wash down the pizza babbeeeh.

The alcoholic in Wylane wanted to do some shots. See the big grin over shots?

When you have an all girls’ night out, it’s really really and I mean really easy to get free drinks from the friendly waiters at TSB ;)

Free shots Round 1

Free shots Round 2

Woman insisting I hold up the shot glasses for a closer picture. The things I do for her

That’s right, my friends are hot ;)

Woman finding me totally irresistible, don’t they all ;) LOL

Having one last shot before heading to the mamak.

Credits to Wylane for all the pictures because when she’s around, I let her be the official photographer :)

And despite having so many pictures up, we actualy left the club at 12am while the night was still young. Spent another 1.5 hours at the mamak just talking and catching up. Also because Siew Chen says mamak food in SG sucks and it’s expensive.

Fun fun night out. I’m definitely going to have more of these in the future, just pure girly fun.

Murphy, what you think of that, wanna join? Promise you’ll be hot.

Photo Of The Day: Some 6 years back I think.

Those were the sad days, lol

The Sole Story

26 Mar

So it was a random unassuming boring day at work when I looked down only to be greeted by the horror sight of this:

My worn out Lewre shoes that proudly served me for the past 2 ½ years.

Scared the crap out of me, I mean how does one go walking around with semi dysfunctional shoes and not notice it for the longest time right. Screw it I said, at least these babies are comfy. [a word I never understood when I was younger, I think as a girl we’ve allll been there: style over comfort, don’t you dare disagree woman]

As the day and weeks progressed, I found myself increasingly getting obsessed with my worn out shoes, wondering if anyone else had noticed its hideous pitiful worn state, or worse still, if anyone snickered at me, wondering if I’m too cheap to get new ones – ‘oh yes sweet girl, shame about the shoes though’

It’s not that I am, I’ve realized I absolutely cannot shop when the other half is around. And he’s always around! Unlike the exes (who would give opinions and saw the sweet joy in seeing me shop, a-rare-kind-but-straight-nonetheless) (Eh, husband better not see this), the chosen one gets too restless. It’s not that he whines (he takes me wherever I want to go) I’m not comfortable shopping with someone who doesn’t like shopping. Period. Therefore, shopping is done online which allows me to look at Ebay and local online shopping blogs for hours while he does whatever he’s doing. Problem solved.

BUT (always a damn but in life eh)

Evidently that has also triggered another problem in my already twisted world. I no longer enjoy shopping in physical stalls. I’ve become : A mall retard. Or worse still, I officially shop like a man. The mall directory is no longer at the back of my palm.

I shy away from malls unless I REALLY need to get something or go for movies. Where I used to stop at every single shop just for the heck of it, I pick stores that I’m most comfie with, get in and out in less than 300 seconds. Even sales people scare me thesedays. Is there a need to follow me around like I’m going to pull a Winona?

So back to my shoes, it was the weekend he left to Manila that it was decided a new pair was much needed. No more snickering. No more feeling shy about my worn out shoes. I am a woman for crying out loud who’s suppose to have inklings to hoard shoes and all things nice.

Unfortunately for me, you can’t always buy shoes online especially if you have BIG WIDE feet like mine. Dragged myself out of bed on an early Sunday morning, headed to the shoe section in Jusco, One-U – instead of browsing around (as I would once upon a time), made a pit stop (and the ONLY stop I might add) at Snowfly London

Tried on the shoes – it fits – check, comfie, check, bargain, check check check and I was done – less than 10 minutes, flat!! Mom was saying how this other sales lady kept looking at me and smiling. Maybe she was impressed, maybe maybe….

I don’t care if they look like shoes your grannie would wear. They’re gentle on my aging feet. I was sold damnit (or should I say sole, tee hee)

*mission accomplished* Then I moved on with life. Awesome lunch we had.

See how I’m changing? ( still can’t decide if it’s for the better?)

So yea, the story of my new shoe. Snowfly you’re so fly. Please last for at least 3 more years coz mummy does not plan to wake up early on a Sunday to go shopping, again.

On a different note: Feel like ending some post with random pictures dear to me. So here’s the first :)

Christmas 2005 – 6 months of knowing him – 2nd month of dating :) Can you see the glow? Lol.

Porto Romano @ TTDI

24 Mar

It was a bitter-sweet day on Friday. Sweet because it was bonus day at hubby’s work place. Bitter coz he had to leave early morning to Manila. Even more bitter coz I had to wake up at 6.30 a.m to send him off to Sentral, ok I kid.

So continuing our ‘bonus tradition’, he asked me to pick a place to eat coz dinner was on him. Free meal, woot. I like.

It was a close call between MichelAngelo @ Solaris and Porto Romano @ TTDI with the latter winning thanks to many good food blog reviews.

Plus it was cheaper too (I’m that thoughtful) :)

Tucked in a quiet corner in Persiaran Zaaba in TTDI, this restaurant caters to a small crowd, oozes cosiness and was certainly inviting. The foreign waiters were really friendly and helpful, and most definitely the providers of entertainment of some sort for the night as we couldn’t help but laugh at their attempt of zee language.

Me: Ok make sure there’s no beef in the pasta, my religion does not allow beef. Serve me and you will forever sin.

Waiter: Ok maaam no beep in your pashhhtaaaa, no beeep, yurkey aam.

Come on now….that’s funny ok!

For appetizer we decided on the brushetta since it came highly recommended on the blogs. (Yup, our food selections are getting highly depended on blog recommendations these days). No regrets here coz it was really good.

Having some chilled beer to wash it down is a form of appetizer apparently :p

Then came the main courses:

He had the turkey ham and mushroom pizza

While I settled for the spaghetti carbonara which was absolutely delicious I swear. No beep in it, just turkey ham.

And we found out the hard way that sometimes, just sometimes, food blogs can lie because we went for the Tiramisu (as recommended) and it was no where good.

But it was a good thing that the pasta was amazing, else I would have left the place cranky.

Entire bill came up to: FREE for me.

What the husband paid: RM106

Rating: 8.5 outta 10. [ Gotta give 0.5 for the 'entertainment' yo] Will definitely go back for the pasta baby.

Some yellow mellow pictures:

Soft lighting is great for everything else but not for camera ;)

Packing off for Manila.

So y’all know what that means eh, I’m Married But Available for yet another 2 weeks :) Sweet!

The Monday Blues

23 Mar

SO my leave application system at work talks to me. So does.

Psstt you there, it said, you have 4 days earned leave. Use me woman.

And I said, bitch pleaseee, I ain’t going no where.

I have earned and successfully kept 4 earned days as opposed to my famous negative leave + unpaid leave days. Ah good times, good times.

Clearly shows I’ve yet to take a break in the past 3 months. Three f-r-e-a-k-i-n-g months.

‘Must you go on a holiday every 2 months? It’s really unheard of’ someone said…

Unheard of?

Ok to put it gently– my batteries need some serious recharging once every TWO months (says so in the manual that popped out with me during birth), I’m motivationally drained (got such a word?) coz I seriously don’t get any sitting and staring at the pc from 8.45am – 7pm everyday [with 30 seconds break tops to go to pee pee and another 30 seconds back, maybe 40 when I choose to wash my hands] while looking at the 4 white stupid walls.

It’s damaging my brain cells or what’s left of it. I wake up tired and I go home tired. On some days I have a back ache. On the other days I feel like jumping off the 14th floor, just to see if I secretly have wings that will set off like Dumbo so I can fly off somewhere.

Anywhere

[At this point I'm really tempted to go - I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky, I think about it every night and day, spread my wings and fly away……]

I need a change in scenery. I think we all do. At some point.

You know how druggies need their drug fix? How alcoholics need their alcohol? And how fat people need their high calorie content food? Are they able to wait?

Oh God forbid. I-rest-my-case.

I need my holiday and I want it now coz it’s just making me ramble on and on….

Am I twisted or do machines really start talking to you the minute monotony kicks in?

Now to see if I can fly.

P.s: Why won’t May come soon???
