Venue: Phuket, Thailand
Date: 18/4/2009 – 21/4/2009
Hello folks, trust your weekend was a good one.
I have good news and bad news to share.
Bad news is our Boracay plans have been shelved off at the moment because of hubby’s uncertain work schedule in Manila which makes it a B to the i-a-t-c-h to plan. Hence our Boracay adventure will be postponed to end May or even June
Bugger you Murphy.
So what’s a wifey to do?
Bats her pretty eyes (minus the almost botak eyelashes on the left eye, why are they dropping!!) while she whines in a cute AND annoying (oh yes it’s possible) manner how she’s totally over-worked and points out the fact that she has yet to go on a holiday in 3 months to her husband?
BINGO. Or you could just tell him you’ll leave him if he doesn’t do anything about it. I’m just suggesting *grins*
So what’s a husband to do because he just wants the whining and batting to stop? Well….
Let’s just say we spent the past 4 days in Phuket
Success! *bats botak eyelashes* That’s the good news FYI!
We booked our holiday in less than a week from our departure date. Talk about being spontaneous, it’s a turn on
Good thing flights were fairly affordable and even a bigger surprise when hubby decided to treat me to a free flight (he can be generous sometimes, esp after his bonus lol).
Within an hour, we were there in Phuket. We arrived way too early at 8 a.m – Phuket was our second visit but first as a couple.

Took a cab that took us to Patong Beach in 45 minutes. The driver stopped by at his office and this Thai pussy just jumped on top of our car, haha.

The owner of the agency kept asking my husband if I’m his Thai wife
To cut it short, I got mistaken for a Thai one too many times. Kinda nice to see them get happy when I tell them I have 25% Thai blood but can’t speak the langauge. Except for Chai Yen which means gimme my Thai Iced Tea damnit!
Ok la janji they don’t mistake me for a ladyboy – it’s all good baby.
Feeling happy to be ‘home’

We checked in at Courtyard Marriott in Patong Beach for 2 nights. The hotel was free because we’re special-like-that.

The folks at Marriott were kind enough to let us check in at 9 a.m in the morning. Now that’s what I call service.

Quite a gorgeous hotel conveniently located at the corner of the Beach and the happening surroundings.

Quickly freshened up and went out for something light for breakfast. The first thing we HAD to do was have Thai Iced Tea and Coffee at a local stall.

On our way to breakfast we got stopped by a French couple who asked us if we could speak French. LOL, like seriously WHICH part of our faces look like we can?
I told my husband they gave me the swinger vibe :))
And of course, naturally the next BEST thing you could do to pamper yourself is to get a damn foot massage which only cost us RM20 each :)))

Btw see my painted toe nails? My hubby painted it for me coz he’s got such steady hands
After 1 hour of relaxing, we walked around Patong area for a bit. And mind you, the weather was horrid! It was way too hot and the humidity was madness – we were drenched wet in no time. Wasn’t too happy about that.

Stopped by at Jung Ceylon mall and shopped for a sun glasses and some groceries. Their carrefour outlet is so amazingly big with tons of goodies! Plus it felt good to walk around in the mall coz of the air conditioner, hehe.

I’m too sexy for my shades….too sexy for my shades…

Decided to have some Thai food, which I have to say is bloody expensive in Phuket thanks to all these white people. Every where you go, you see them and they have no qualms forking out any amount which makes the locals demand for alot of $ for everything. The key is to bargain.
Food in general is quite expensive here. We paid on average about RM35-40 for meals for 1 person – which we shared most of the time.
Chicken Satay:

Yummy Thai Green Curry:

Hauls for the day:
My personal favorite coz it’s so damn true

And not forgetting Hubby’s prized items – cheap beers

After a late lunch, we walked back to the hotel around 3pm feeling SO tired coz of the early morning flight. The weather didn’t help either ok.
Drenched wet from all that walking, eeeek.

The hotel had an awesome rain shower so we took a longggg shower (infact we took 4 showers a day coz of the stinkin weather) to cool off and have a little fun
Watched TV a little and slept till 7 pm – on a holiday what

Oh he’s such a show off

A nice picture of a fresh me before I get drenched, again

Around 8pm, we headed for dinner. Yup no guesses it was Thai food yet again :))

Decided to go check out Simon Cabaret which cost us RM70 each for tickets. Walked about a good 20 minutes to get there. The show featured all these lady boys who look so awesome. Made me feel like shit seriously.
Pictures pictures…

This one looks exactly like Kylie Minogue I kid you not. Gorgeous thing – until he opened his mouth and went beaouttifulll, kaam take pictureee while calling me out
Pity the one thing they can’t change is their manly voice!

No pictures of the husband with them coz he was too disgusted to go near.

After the show we took a tuk tuk that cost us RM15 for a freakin 3 minutes ride to Bangla Road. That’s where all the action is – tons of clubs at every freaking corner. I LIKE.
Check out the map to all the clubs:

Unfortunately for me, I couldn’t drink on Saturday night coz I was on antibiotics. SUCKED big time ok
I let the husband drink while I sipped on my juice. I was probably the most miserable sober person on Bangla Road, haha.
The one cool concept of some of the pubs, besides being open air – they actually have games to keep the customers entertained. And the games are innocent ok.
For instance – hitting the nail into a barrel. Looks easy but you have to use the opposite side of the hammer. Hubby won a FREE beer after he beat the waitress at it

Check out the red lightings

That’s orange juice – REALLY

Walked around Bangla Road for a bit. The Aussies are everywhere here! Infact, you get alot of Australian pubs where they all hang out and get totally wasted.
We left back to the hotel around 2 a.m – relatively early because
1) We were dead tired
2) No fun coz I wasn’t drinking
Made a quick stop for some snacks – this banana pancake with nutella and banana was SO bloody good!

No doubt our first day in Phuket was a little bit toned down – very relaxing. Second day was a blast with all that partying. Will blog it soon coz I have tons of pictures and even videos to put up.
