Boracay, Philippines

24 Jun

Date: 12th-18th June 2009

Nothing beats a beach holiday to unwind and destress. Really! Just imagine the sound of the wave crashing into the shores, sand so white that it puts whitening ads to shame, heh, water so crystal clear that you can see your toes (and that chipped nail polish oh so clearly :p).

Also imagine restaurants and clubs on the beach – YES, where you can actually feel the softness of the sand on your feet over dinner and drinks and let’s not forget massages by the beach with the wind blowing so hard – sigh. How I miss them all now.

On Sunday (14/6), the three stooges (and not to mention the already very broke stooges!) boarded a flight from Manila via Cebu Pacific to Caticlan which was a 45 minutes ride.

When this tiny turbo-prop lands, it really feels like it’s going to crash, scary shit!

Why you should travel with two guys – so they can carry your bags :)

Upon reaching the airport, we had to take a short ride on a tricycle to the Jetty to take another 15 minute boat ride to the Island. We were subjected to several fees before boarding the boat. Terminal and Environment fee my ass la!

First of all, we had to pay a hefty fine for having luggages over 10kg. Small plane can’t have heavy load it seems – they even checked our body weight. Good thing they didnt’ ban me from the flight.

Reminds me of an auto in India, good thing it survived our weight, hehe

Safety first!

Took another tricycle ride to our hotel and God knows how all three managed to survive and fit on the tricycle with 6 luggages in tow.

We were finally there!!

Nothing like a welcome shell necklace eh?

Checked into Pearl of the Pacific In Station 1. The Island is divided into 3 stations with Station 1 having the nicest beach.

Nice big spacious room but we were disppointed by the salty SEA water for a shower, rusty taps AND the stupid aircon didn’t work. So we moved to another room that night. But still had to put up with the salty shower :(

BIL’s split-level tiny crib for 2 nights.

Of course the first thing we did after throwing our bags in the room (and bitching about it) was this….

Chop – me fat toes were here first!

Can you believe how white the sand is for real??

The weather in general was a tad cloudy with the ocassional rain because it wasn’t the best of time to go but we didn’t care :))

Explored the town a little. You have a choice of walking along the beach because you can still enter the shops since the shops are on the beach itself!! But since it was high tide – we took the front way.

Discovered Jonah’s Fruitshake thanks to Wiki – they serve the BEST fruit shake ever!! We were there everyday :)

Oh how I crave for a Banana Choc Vanilla shake now :((

The customary place to snap a picture if you come here, I’ve seen it in so many blogs

Basically our day consisted of waking up mid morning, going to town for lunch, walking on the beach, chilling at the beach, swim, dinner, drinks (which are SO cheap!), massage at the beach, swing by a club for some music……if only I could do this everyday!

Buffet dinner for only RM20

@ the Hobbit Bar where little people serve you

Late night massage by the beach

We rented a boat and did some snorkelling too.

A house by the beach….one day….one day.

A bit disappointed we didn’t more water sports.

BIL left a day earlier than us so hubby and I spent long walks on the beach, discovered this really good coffee place, had drinks on the beach and some making out session at the cabanna, lol – twas good!

Don’t ask, won’t tell

Had dinner at a really nice Greek restaurant. Cocktails and drinks in Boracay (and Phillipines for that matter) only cost around RM10 :)))

How I miss being by the beach. Now it’s back to reality.

Holidays always end too quickly wouldn’t you agree?

Can scratch Boracay off my Travel Plan list now, yay.

Till the next one…..

P.s: I didn’t shop for a single thing in Boracay *gleams*

P.s.s: Should have at least bought a souvenir for remembrance :(

Mabuhay Phillipines

21 Jun

O’hai – I’m back from my holiday but am feeling a little under the weather :(

I hope it’s not swine flu :( Was told not to come in to work on Friday because Phillipines was under the high risk category (100 cases and counting). So I had to be quarantined for 72 hours away from my colleagues. NO complains here :))

Plus I get another day off tomorrow coz of my flu.

Anyho, to keep this blog alive shall post up some Manila pictures first (which isn’t much) before I post up my Boracay photos in the next post.

For 1,000 pesos – he’s all yours:p

According to BIL, any chick in a band with little or next to no clothes constitutes a GREAT band :p

Zombie face thanks to being up since since 3 a.m travelling.

@ Embassy Club at the Fort

Here we are at the posh The Establishment Club in Makati. I think I saw a Channel V VJ but was too shy to ask if it’s her.

The Shopaholic

Despite being in Manila for only 1.5 days before going to Boracay, I still managed to shop for these babies:

For my family:

And for me:

Till I get well and recover from my tan, toodles…

The Ends Of My Hair Can Kill Someone

11 Jun

4 things I am pissed with right now.

In no specific order because I have hatred for all four items EQUALLY!

No 1 – My BAPUK Hair.

You would think a gay hair stylist would give you an awesome cut, but screw that stereotype. I look like someone with a wig on. What was the faggot thinking??! 1 inch short DOES NOT means 4 inches la brader!! Dare not run back to my usual hair stylist to fix it because I’m paranoid about him sabotaging my hair because I cheated on him.

Moral of the story: Stick to your regular and never be cheap and skimp on hair cuts! Coz you might just end up looking like this:

Is the Egyptian (minus the bangs) look in?? I SURE HOPE SO. Damn fag. Ok was that mean? I don’t care!

No 2 – Air Asia

Tony Fernandez, it’s acceptable for you to change our flight dates ONCE but, getting a text message from your goons at 12.30 a.m, disturbing my bloody sleep saying they’ve shifted the flight dates to YET another date for the SECOND time is just pushing it!!!

Screw Manado, damn sui flight, going to transfer the credit and pick another destination.

Bali or Bangkok? Yes again. Help vote.

Moral of the story: Don’t book ulu places on AA.

No 3 – Show me the $$$

Where is my bonus??! It’s not very nice to keep poor hard working employees waiting for their bonus!! That really leaves us checking our account one too many times, like haddap idiots. Well in this case, I really am. Coz I’m spending money that I’ve yet to get!

Moral of the story: Don’t spend money you don’t have and don’t listen to the grapevine that bonus is just around the corner. Bollocks.

No 4 – When people are just weird

My wardrobe was bursting so I thought fudge it – let’s give away clothes that I hardly use anymore for FREE! All I stinking-ly asked for in return was to pay RM10 for postage – which isn’t much to ask given how we (I say we coz my mom does all that, heh), have to buy envelopes, wrap it, go to the post office, line up and you get the drill. Sorry I can’t teleport the clothes to you la cheapos.

And yet I get some dumb b*tches asking if I can send it out via the RM4 pos express envelope. Worse still, one girl pissed me off by asking if I can model the clothes. WTF. It’s already FREE and you want me to waste MY time to model it for you??? Then you get the greedy ones who chop everything first and then decide they’re too cheap to pay that RM10 and say ‘sorry you can let it go’ or ‘sorry, don’t want’ like as if I was shoving it down their throats in the first place. But luckily I have other girls interested.

Damn who knew being NICE can be fudging tedious man. At least I had one girl who wanted to give me a GEO contact lens in return for free, sweet right? I kindly declined it coz I don’t use that.

Moral of the story: Don’t give away your clothes to those who don’t deserve it. It’s okay to be nice though :)

Okay la – I don’t want to be pissed anymore because I’m going on a HOLIDAY, like tomorrow!!

So this bloggie will be asleep for the next one week. Any guesses where I’m going?

Peace out!

Meet Mark

8 Jun

He’s my new bf :p

It was last Thursday when these babies arrived.

My mom texted me during lunch to say I had received not one, not two but THREE packages.

They were an excellent pick me up after a long hard day at work :) I wasn’t even sure what was inside the package due to numerous orders on Ebay *am not a shopaholic* *just getting old*

My haulies:

Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara – only paid RM20 for this with shipping :p

Heard of mark by Avon? The Flip For It Kits are highly raved and make the perfect travel companion. For USD8 each (retail is USD18), you get 2 neutral eye shadows, 2 lipstick, 2 lip glosses and 1 blush – it’s like finding the perfect boyfriend :)) in makeup form!

I got myself the Flip For It kits, not one, not two, not three (annoying isn’t it!) but FOUR of their kits which are named after cities that I want and will go one day.

From afeng.mymarkstore.com

She’s such a sweetie pie, I ordered only TWO kits from her in New York and London (and that too she had to top up on shipping since she wrongly quoted me a lower sum), yet she was sweet enough to throw in freebies. And don’t we all love freebies!

And from another seller

Mark-Caribbean Shine Lip Gloss-Kiss On The Beach (sis said this is so pretty that I should just keep it, stare at it and NEVER use it), mark credit card size Minificent Lip Gloss Palette and the Flip For It Fall Color Kit in Milan and Paris

No freebie though :(

Absolutely adore the flipping innovation *flip flip*

My pretty kits all lined up

I think there are 7 flip kits in the series (there could be more, not too sure) but I’ll stop at 4 because these will last me for 2 years. Or more. Or maybe I’ll get bored of them halfway through, who knows….

But for now I honestly don’t mind having the Flip For It in Sydney. Neutral has never looked this g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s

I’m just saying :)

Shopping Hauls

4 Jun

SO I’ve been pampering myself silly with some beauty buys because of my sudden interest with beauty blogs.

I glanced through my miserable collection and thought it was mighty crap coz I only had one or two items which I would repeatedly use :( And to top it off, some items were as old as 3-4 years.

Well not anymore :)

I got almost all my stuff from Ebay US :)

Smashbox Hauls

Limited edition Smashbox Tokido in Celebrita & Limited Edition Smashbox Tokidoki Lipgloss.

Totally in love with the packaging

Smashbox 18 Shades Lip Palette and 2 Smashbox lip glosses

Too Faced Hauls

From the Quickie Chronicles (ha ha quickie!) – The Tropical Goddess Kit and Naughty & Nice Palette kit which is just WAY TOO ADORABLE!! I can just look and play with it the packaging for hours, haha, I’m so sad.

Tigi Beadhead

Gloss and all over stick – I keep licking them off because these babies smell like chocolate, nyam nyam.

Stila Hauls

Stila Marakesh palette, Stila Pomegranate Crush lip and cheek tint and Stila Pocket Lip Gloss which came from Hong Kong.

Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara – for like 50% cheaper and NYX single eyeshadow in Cedarwood

ELF Brushes

Bath Hauls

Two BIG Grapefruit and Mango shower gel which I bought from the Bodyshop outlet here. Raspberry and Ananya shower gel bought by Hubby from Manila and also a VS shampoo that makes my hair smell so good! And I love my Kose Happy Bath conditioner in Rose.

Hubby said I have enough bath stuff to last me a year, I looked at him disgustedly and said NO – just 2 months :p A girl’s gotta smell good all the time ok.

I got myself Marc Jacob’s Blush perfume and BIL got me The Bodyshop Moroccan Rose perfume (been wanting this for a while now!)

I have a whole lot more stuff coming from the States. I keep texting my mom every day around lunch just to ask if she received any packages. I think she’s getting really annoyed with me now.

Till my next post, toodles.
