Nothing beats a beach holiday to unwind and destress. Really! Just imagine the sound of the wave crashing into the shores, sand so white that it puts whitening ads to shame, heh, water so crystal clear that you can see your toes (and that chipped nail polish oh so clearly :p).
Also imagine restaurants and clubs on the beach – YES, where you can actually feel the softness of the sand on your feet over dinner and drinks and let’s not forget massages by the beach with the wind blowing so hard – sigh. How I miss them all now.
On Sunday (14/6), the three stooges (and not to mention the already very broke stooges!) boarded a flight from Manila via Cebu Pacific to Caticlan which was a 45 minutes ride.
When this tiny turbo-prop lands, it really feels like it’s going to crash, scary shit!
Why you should travel with two guys – so they can carry your bags
Upon reaching the airport, we had to take a short ride on a tricycle to the Jetty to take another 15 minute boat ride to the Island. We were subjected to several fees before boarding the boat. Terminal and Environment fee my ass la!
First of all, we had to pay a hefty fine for having luggages over 10kg. Small plane can’t have heavy load it seems – they even checked our body weight. Good thing they didnt’ ban me from the flight.
Reminds me of an auto in India, good thing it survived our weight, hehe
Safety first!
Took another tricycle ride to our hotel and God knows how all three managed to survive and fit on the tricycle with 6 luggages in tow.
We were finally there!!
Nothing like a welcome shell necklace eh?
Checked into Pearl of the Pacific In Station 1. The Island is divided into 3 stations with Station 1 having the nicest beach.
Nice big spacious room but we were disppointed by the salty SEA water for a shower, rusty taps AND the stupid aircon didn’t work. So we moved to another room that night. But still had to put up with the salty shower
BIL’s split-level tiny crib for 2 nights.
Of course the first thing we did after throwing our bags in the room (and bitching about it) was this….
Chop – me fat toes were here first!
Can you believe how white the sand is for real??
The weather in general was a tad cloudy with the ocassional rain because it wasn’t the best of time to go but we didn’t care :))
Explored the town a little. You have a choice of walking along the beach because you can still enter the shops since the shops are on the beach itself!! But since it was high tide – we took the front way.
Discovered Jonah’s Fruitshake thanks to Wiki – they serve the BEST fruit shake ever!! We were there everyday
Oh how I crave for a Banana Choc Vanilla shake now :((
The customary place to snap a picture if you come here, I’ve seen it in so many blogs
Basically our day consisted of waking up mid morning, going to town for lunch, walking on the beach, chilling at the beach, swim, dinner, drinks (which are SO cheap!), massage at the beach, swing by a club for some music……if only I could do this everyday!
Buffet dinner for only RM20
@ the Hobbit Bar where little people serve you
Late night massage by the beach
We rented a boat and did some snorkelling too.
A house by the beach….one day….one day.
A bit disappointed we didn’t more water sports.
BIL left a day earlier than us so hubby and I spent long walks on the beach, discovered this really good coffee place, had drinks on the beach and some making out session at the cabanna, lol – twas good!
Don’t ask, won’t tell
Had dinner at a really nice Greek restaurant. Cocktails and drinks in Boracay (and Phillipines for that matter) only cost around RM10 :)))
How I miss being by the beach. Now it’s back to reality.
Holidays always end too quickly wouldn’t you agree?
Can scratch Boracay off my Travel Plan list now, yay.
Till the next one…..
P.s: I didn’t shop for a single thing in Boracay *gleams*
P.s.s: Should have at least bought a souvenir for remembrance
