Kavin Gets Engaged

Kavin Gets Engaged

We made our way to JB for the weekend as it was the weekend that saw our buddy Kavin get engaged to his girlfriend Bavani of three years!!!

I remember the day he brought her as his date to my wedding reception and claimed it was his ‘cousin’!  Three years on, here we are witnessing their new journey as newly engaged on Saturday and as a married couple legally as they got registered the very next day.  However in true Indian fashion they will only be recognized as husband and wife in everyones eyes after their temple wedding next year in February so till then, technically there shouldn’t be a first night yet, ahem, haha :D

Stayed at Dorsett JB, which wasn’t too bad although from the outside, it looks soo like an apartment. Yes our hotel rooms are ALWAYS this messy, don’t judge me! Blame the dude relaxing on the bed when he should be tidying it up.

I decided to be an Indian rebel and wore a dress to the engagement because no 1. they ain’t my relatives to deal with no 2. because I can’t tie a saree on my own and no 3. because I can and please refer to no 1 again. Besides at this point of time, I have limited saree blouses that can actually fit me hence I’m saving my expensive grand saree for their wedding day. I still have alot of weight to loose. Meh.

All set as part of the convoy:

Anneh looking over to see if his beamer is still there, haha. SHOW OFF!

Can’t see his face? Here’s a clearer photo of the dashing groom :) Sorry girls, he’s officially taken :)

Making our way to the bride’s house

The exchange of trays by the parents – this photo is so similiar and reminds me of my own engagment.

Dude, you’re not suppose to doze off !

There were lots of people for the engagement (Heck you ain’t Indian if you don’t have the numbers for a ceremony), hence we had to stand right at the back but I’m guessing this part is where they exchange rings…..

Because you can FINALLY see the look of relieve on Kavin that she didn’t change her mind about getting engaged to him :D

A very very RELIEVED happy man.  Mission accomplished! I’ve never seen this look on him when sober :D

Stuck Bonded for life…….

And what to do you know, my dress matches the carpet!

After the ceremony, we headed to a club to celebrate their engagement.

Now this photo looks just about right! Bottle in one hand and grinning at the camera…..so Kavin!

Ok he aint drunk (though it REALLY does look like it). He just made a 6 hour journey by bus from SG-Malacca so he could have awesome Nyonya lunch with us and spent another 2 hours back to JB! Things people do for good food.

All set to go home to see my BABY!

This one day trip made me realize how much I can miss and yearn for her when I”m away. I didn’t even drink (okay just one glass. And a half)  and wasn’t in the mood to club because the only thing that was on my mind was Sairah Sairah Sairah! God how I missed that baby even though she’s just been in my life for 2.5 months! The feeling was mutual too because mom said she was quite cranky and only slept at 5 a.m that night because she was obviously missing something :D

Can’t wait for their wedding and reception next year where I can finally wear a saree and not look like a whale in it, and also witness Kavin’s journey to a responsible married man :D Time to grow up biatch!

Romance After Birth

Romance After Birth

Does it exist?

Well only if you make time for it :D

This is my third trip to Porto Romano in TTDI for some fantastic Mediterranean food.  It’s very hard to find a restaurant that maintains the quality and taste of their food every visit, but PR does a fantastico job!

Let’s see……..what to have?

The interior as you can see is small and cozy – perfect for intimate dates I reckon.

The drinks: Hot chocolate for the missus and coffee for the hubby….

Because we he needed it bad from babysitting our baby the night before :D

For starters we had the Brushetta which was lovely and definitely unlike the crap we had at the over-priced cut throat Alexis in Gardens a week ago! Okie they do make good pizzas though.

Followed by the Arabiatta Spaghetti for me. I requested for a slightly mild version thanks to booby duty - 5 out of 5 yummy points!

And here’s the stuffed chicken breast for the hubster – also 5 out of 5 yummy points so you see, you REALLY can’t go wrong with this restaurant!! The bill came up to slightly over RM80 which was worth every cent and of our time.

We even got a 20% discount card for our next visit which the hubby is clinging on with his dear life :D

Must remember to use it in the next 8 days??

Heck, I just realized that I don’t have ANY photos of me and the baby together on this blog. So here’s THREE photos taken after my yummy lunch (yea we had a romantic LUNCH – who says romantic dates are reserved only for dinners?!) at PR.  Probably explains the huge satisfied smile on my face too, heeh.

*Proud Mummy*

If you look close enough, my baby has mad awesome eye lashes at 2 months. This girl will never ever ever need a tube of mascara, unlike her mommy.

I swear Sairah sometimes looks like a pretty boy, just like her dad coz her grandma for some reason LOVES dressing her up in blue. Something tells me her favorite color is going to be none other but blue.

I see a camera pointing at me, hence I must strike a pose!

And here’s a photo of her first stroll in the Graco stroller we got her.  She looks just too cute!

P.s: Read here for our first visit to PR.

Travel Plan 2011

18 Nov

With Baby Sairah around, no doubt our travel plans have somewhat changed. I’ve decided to push all our travels to mid 2011, when she’s a bit bigger so it would be easier for my mom to take care of her while we’re away without feeling guilty :)

So this is what’s in store for 2011:

February - We shall be soaking up the sun and white sand in MALDIVES! It’s going to be a romantic trip but let’s just hope I don’t come home preggers, tee hee.

July - A short weekend trip to Langkawi. Been there a couple of times when we were dating - I’m soo going to see if we can secure the same hotel on the beach :D  Definitely will be loading up on the duty-free booze (and try to sneak in a few bottles home) and chocolates!!

August – BALI BALI BALI! When we first explored Bali in 2008, I told the hubby that we SHOULD sooo make it a yearly affair. A year and a half later, we were there again (a day after I found out I was pregnant) for his birthday and again I told him – let’s make this a yearly affair! And what do you know – it does appear that the Bali trip IS fast becoming a yearly vacation, wohooo.  This time around I’ll get to have my favorite drink AND will be taking that bungee jumping plunge, wohoo :D

October – Another short local trip to Kuala Terengganu / Perhentian a day after my birthday!

Tickets have been booked for ALL our trips, now just have to wait for 2011 – just another 1.5 months to go. Can’t believe we’re almost at the end of 2010.

Will we be bringing Sairah along for any one of those trips? Hmm….so far my little baby girl is one heck of a curious baby and she just LOVES it when a new environment is introduced to her (I sniff a thirsty traveller in this one) so who knows, she just might tag along provided she’s easier to handle then :D

More Or Less

11 Nov

More Or Less

Now that I’m done being pregnant, I’ve been sratching my head whether to get rid of my maternity clothes or to store it far far away in the cupboard (ya know, just incase another drunken night goes wrong takes place, lol). For the record, I still have some maternity clothes that are brand new with the tags on!!

The hubby and I have more or less have decided to stick to one baby. Obviously this doesn’t augur well with family members and relatives over our one child-policy :) And I say ‘more or less’  because deep down I think my husband secretly wants more than one baby.

I coyly asked him what should I do with my maternity clothes and the bugger instantly knew it was a trick question. He said I should keep it……..just incase. And when he saw my face change, he said we could always buy new ones IF the time comes. Hmm…do you know what this means?

I should be extra extra careful!! EXTRA.

I think this probably stems from the fact that some astrologer said I would have not one, not two but THREE kids!! So far he’s been spot on about me having Baby Sairah, a girl at the age of 29 and wait for it…..he was also spot on about me having a C-Sect. Now how on earth did he do that? How do you even say C-Sect in Tamil? And another astrologer said she’ll go on to be a doctor, on some scholarship. Oh my, I”m already a very proud mommy :)

So three kids huh? Apparently the other two will be boys. BOYS! Honestly don’t know how true this is (I pray that it’s not) because seriously, do I look like a mother of three? Or capable of handling THREE kids? One as it is, is already tiring and a lot of work. THREE? We’ll have to see about that in a few years time. Astrologers scare me sometime. Yet we Indians love seeing them.

What do you think? Have more babies or just stop with Sairah?

Speaking of which, she’s going to turn 2 months next week. Also means I’m back to work. It’s just too soon :(

Oh hai mommy, totally going to miss your boobies when you go back to work *honest*

Daddy and Baby watching something on Youtube

She’s actually pooping and smiling at the same time, talk about multitasking eh? She’s just like her mommy :D

Notice the similarities with all the photos? That’s right, Baby Sairah knows how to pose in front of the camera.

I’m going to turn this one into a talent :D Oh yes I am!
