A London Musical Treat
27 Jun
Thanks to Magnum, I received 2 blogger complimentary tickets to London Musical. It was my second time attending their musical, with the first being Magical Musical which I went during their gala opening.
This time around we decided to take Sairah because I figured she’s old enough to attend a musical and secondly, because I knew she would love anything musically related. Oh and my third reason – she’s under 2 making her entry FREE :D *cheapskate mode ON*
It was on a Friday so I made a mad dash home to get ready and by 7.45pm we found ourselves in Sunway Pyramid. There was a car exhibition on display so naturally the husband just HAD to check it out for a while. He’s very annoying that way esp when he trolls the sales people into thinking he might be keen to buy it. After they brief him about the price and specs, he usually runs over to me and proceeds to tell me we can buy this in OZ for the fraction of the price!! Idiot or not??!
Dear fellow audience, today I’m going to tell you why you should buy a vroom vroom car.
For starters, when you drive a car, you wouldn’t have to run around aimlessly on a road. On a side note, why is that young kid on the streets alone without his parents?
You wouldn’t have to take the bus either, or is that a electric powered train? Crap, let me check my notes.
You wouldn’t have to sit on the bus/train (okay it’s starting to look like a train to me!) and put on a sour face just because the air conditioning doesn’t work.
With a car, you can be your own boss and park it whever you want like a sohai coz that’s how we Malaysians roll (btw the four shadows belong to us and my 2 cousins who met us briefly – I’m afraid we were her ONLY audience)
And that concludes why you should buy a car, okie thanks for listening to my speech! *cue standing ovation from mom, dad and both uncles*
That said, the walk into the amphitheatre was a LONG one. That would be my only complain coz by the time we reached the show we were sweating! We had a similiar experience during the other musical and I was almost regretting coming for this one.
But good thing half way through, a buggy service was provided to all patrons so they can reach the theatre even faster. If we were to walk the entire journey I reckon I would just DIE!
Though she looks a lil skeptical here, she enjoyed her ride thoroughly.
I was happy to find out our seats were pretty good – about third row in the front, hurrah! The crowd was pretty decent esp since it’s been weeks since this musical started. Baby girl couldn’t contain herself coz even she knew our seats were good too!
Har har front row you biatches, eat that!
I think the show started 15 minutes after 8pm.
My only worry was whether Sairah would sit through the show quietly, fuss free and that kid made me proud that night. She was very curious and as soon as the show started she begin to clap her hands, gave 110% attention, clapped her hands and even attempted to sing!
Since the seats next to us were rather empty she had her own seat!
And let the show begin!
A little bit of dancing…
A lil bit of clapping….
A lil bit of nose picking coz I think the love story was about to unfold and she just couldn’t contain herself!
A little bit of woot woot y’all….
And maybe the excitment stemmed from looking at the main actor in the middle who was quite the looker, ahem.
A little bit of Vitagen break…
More singing and dancing and jumping around… (that’s actually a song from BabyTV FYI)
She sat like a good girl glued to her fav cartoon for the next 1 hour 15 minutes. It was then that they decided to have a 15 minute break. By that time it was already close to 9.30 pm. The husband just HAD to take her down for a ‘walk’ he said and the next thing I knew Sairah was wrestling with him coz she wanted to go on stage, lol. Can we please scrap the break for the next musical please??!
Let me take centre stage old man, I can do this!!! I was born to be a star!
And everything just went downhill from there because now she didn’t want to sit down quietly but instead was working her way to the stage. God knows they didn’t need an extra dancer for sure, esp since all their dancers were stick thin, ahem
So we did the next best thing any parent would do, we packed up and graciously left :D To me it was a blessing coz as we left, the guy in the buggy gave us a lift all the way back to the entrance
We never got that service for the first musical coz it was such a mad rush when everyone left at the same time.
But overall, it was indeed a good musical to attend and I’m still proud that my girl sat through it quietly during the first half. Well done Sairah girl!
The show is still running until 8th of July so there’s still time to catch this musical. For those keen, you may purchase your tickets on AirAsiaRedTix.com and for those who missed the cheap tickets on Groupon, well too bad hor.
So now, am most definitely looking forward to the next free musical by Magnum.
That said, I don’t remember attending any musical as a kid, esp not as a 22 month old toddler so I sure hope Sairah had a blast. Do check out the video here
Does she look like a huge fan or what?!

Sairah looks adorable and cheery in her rainbow colour dress
and 3 cheers for the lil one for sitting through the 1st 1 hour + …she needs to be handed an award for that
Tarraniya would have probably stayed put for 10 mins tops !!! n the next thing would have been hubby trying to keep her away from going on stage and at the same time trying to keep bass voice barrage down !!! my lil one just loves to yak n yak n yak non stop with a good measure of songs thrown in n she does all this in her most deepest and loudest voice !!!
back to the post..I must compliment you on your top as well…it looks pretty cheery n chirpy and goes along well with lil Sairah’s outfit
Aww thanks Nimi! I shipped that dress in from the US, can’t remember if it’s second hand or not but I love it – so colorful, probably made her mood better. LOL you know what they say about kids who yak alot, they will make good future lawyers….she will take afer her mom, good thing to inherit – the gift of yakking, hehehe. Thank you again, I quite love this top, it’s unique. It’s from M&S, got it from Ebay UK for a mere RM40 (shipping included). I went to M&S last week in Gardens coz they were having a ’sale’ and was shocked to see some tops still above RM100 despite the sale tag to it!!
Talking about purchasing stuff online…I must tell you this cause you Sairah’s mommy is officially the individual responsible for indicting me into the realm of online purchase !!!heheheheheh I am officially an online shopper now, my first top purchased from zalora was delivered home yesterday around noon !!!
for all the praises that I’ve heard my sis, Uma and yourself sing about the online world of shopping…I was still very much wary of it (I blame the wariness on the lawyer bit in me :-)) I kept on thinking payments made will never bear fruit and it might be scam !!! so I did a test purchase yesterday with a top which cost less than RM50, n I had it at home less than 24 hours later…
I proudly showed my top of to hubs last night n as a response, he had a wide knowing smile n the first thing he uttered to me was ” Shantini ” LOL….(I have been telling him about my foray into Missus Blog land
) Though I didn’t quite find the top a pleasing site on me…cause I failed to realize/observe carefully the top did not have splits at the bottom of both sides (hence making it look like a pillow case on me !!! ) I’m getting there…I’ll be much more careful to note the details when purchasing online next round…I’m getting a dress today
wish me luck !!! planning to move on to the next ultimate online purchase next week …’a saree !’ I found this absolutely user friendly saree website..which has a dream collection albeit a lil pricey…but quality sarees always are…I still haven’t made up my mind on which one though !!!
Wow I have to say, I’m so happy to know I have made such an impact in your online shopping foray, hehehe. Well for starters i’ve not shopped on zalora before, I would have personally recommended thepoplook.com (Btw they have an update at 11 a.m today, check it out!!) plus they have a return policy. I have bought and returned stuff from poplook a few times with ease. Check and see if Zalora has that, so you can return it and pick something else. Patience – you must have lots of that when buying online, gotta check out the photos carefully to see if that’s really what you want and check the measurements but hey still gotta give you A+ for finally testing out online shopping. It’s the best ever, esp now when we don’t have time to go out and shop, plus it’s a whole lot easier!
Hehehe I’m hoping your husband will not hate me for tempting you with these things. Do update me about your dress! But if you’re really seeking good value for money clothes, you should try Ebay UK
Seriously!
About buying saree online, that one you have to be 100% careful. A friend of mine got hers, of course the design itself was gorgeous but she complained about the quality so you need to double check with the seller about the quality.
Lovely dress and lovely girl — to think she sat still for 1 hour 15 mins. If it were my boy, we wouldnt have even made it to our seats! Temper tantrum (I’m seeing LOTS of it nowadays) would have started at the top of the stairs itself!
I always wanna watch a musical… Missed the groupon deal… Gotta wait for the next musical then
Thanks babe, actually I’m sure he would sit properly coz kids get intrigued with new things so they actually will pay attention and behave. Maybe the next one you should take him and see. Besides I told you about the free tix magnum was giving out, hope they have the same deal for the next musical :)So even if you have to leave half way you won’t feel bad for wasting $.
Yup yup i knew about the free tix. Was tempted to go wt my mum (and leave the 2 BOYS at home!) but it was a rather packed week wt the wedding & all, didnt have time so didnt bother lah in the end… My fault my fault
Must be more hardworking next time….
Hehehe no worries la, they will have another one soon and hopefully they let those who buy magnum redeem free tickets again. They never had that option with the previous musical.
Wow wee! Sairah sat through the first hour of the musical with no fuss?! She definitely deserves a great big cheer and claps for that! Btw, Love your captions on her ’speech’!
I know right? When you have the least confidence in them behaving themselves, that’s when they go and prove you wrong by behaving, lol. Mommy got her a lil gift after that for being a good girl
Thanks babe, too free, hehehe
