The 3 Tiered Top That Was Once A Dress

16 Jul

The other day I quickly picked out this Hello Kitty dress (Original by Sanrio don’t play okay - I should also add it was a gift) to prettify my vain baby up and then realized the dress was short!!!! No way no how that dress would have passed off as a dress coz her diapers were peeking out!

Is this the right size for her? I thought perhaps this dress were to share the fate as some of her clothes where it has sat in the cupboard for far too long, neglected to the core and by the time I thought about it, it was too late coz Sairah was way past the age of wearing it. It usually would be too snug for her :D

BUT NOPE!

It says 24 months on the tag. I double, triple checked it just to be sure. 24 months. This baby is 22 months now so please do the maths :)  Since she could still fit nicely into the ‘dress’ (the problem was the length, not the width for a change this time, heh) I quickly salvaged it by putting on a nice black leggings for her so that her diap diap (as we like to call it) wouldn’t peek out.

Black leggings – every toddler should have one, I kid you not.

Without the leggings, can you imagine what a sight this would be with her white diaper with a bear printed on the back would look like for the world to see? Heh.

Oops my diaper wasn’t peeking out was it? No?! Okay good, buy me barbie!

I wonder if old man will buy this for me.

See, again her diap diap would have been peeking out if it wasn’t for her leggings :)

Phew, thank god for leggings ma says. And it also got me realizing how tall my little baby has shot up. Prior to this, we used to hear ‘below average’ in height from our Pead every single freaking visit. It used to worry me till no end coz I would pray so hard hoping she wouldn’t end up short and fat like her dad’s side she wouldn’t end up short. I used to even massage her legs and pull it lightly in bids of making her tall(er), lol.

But look at her now, officially above average in height as confirmed by her pead during her last visit a few months ago, wohoo :)

So tall until some dresses are now tops, heh :)

Can I like have some?  For the past few weeks she has been requesting to try out our drinks. Usually all we ever hear is GIMME COFFEE and while I am fed up trying to explain to her lil kids do not ever drink coffee, we have resorted to hiding our drinks behind the menu so she wouldn’t have to see or ask for our ‘coffee’

Run run run….favorite past time of hers. Already hyper without coffee!

And this is how vain my child is. I’m starting to think all those time I used to tell her ‘go look at the mirror’ in midst of distracting her while I blow dry my hair has made her love the mirror a lillll too much. Always has to go to the mirror to check herself out after she gets dressed.

Hmm this looks like a dress that mom somehow cleverly converted into a top

But I guess I like it….

Hey pretty baby, how youuuu doing?! Wanna go out for a cuppa coffee?

Oh me, I”m great, har har. Oh I LOVE coffee.

Wonder how many other dresses more I will discover as tops, hmmm.

Haha. Superb call with the leggings! It actually matches the whole outfit. Love the 3-tier skirt. Anything tiered (as far as I can think of) is on my books. =)

Coffee? At such age? I thought kids would start with chocolate milk first. A sign of Sairah growing up fast. =)

I think she just wants to try it coz she hears us talking about having coffee all the time. Everything is coffee to her at the moment, lol.

Lol. after looking again ya hor. The color contrast played tricks on me. lol, and I missed out even after reading your post.

Yeah, you are right, they tend to wanna try out what’s presented in front of them. =) Probably would move on to the next best thing soon.

Iz okay, that’s why you’re a male species, the least observant type, hehehe. But to your defense I will agree that the color contrast can make you confuse.

Aah let’s see, next she’ll probably tell her father ‘let me drive’!!

Lucky it was the length problem, if width then no choice but to let it go, hehe. SAME HERE, I’m thinking CB Ice blended mocha, *drool*

She looks lovely, and so cute checking herself out in the mirror. BTW, “below average” — got that a lot too from the doc! Kept telling he was on the lower centile of the graph etc. Hubby wanted to ask her on which centile is SHE on :-) But she finally said he is about average in height now… They all do grow (taller, heavier etc) eventually, but it’s so pressuring having a “report card” on their progress…..

Thanks, call her Miss Vain. LOL about her height, double dare him to ask her next time. But she was right la, Sairah was indeed on the shorty side then and I was worried coz I would hate to see her short, then one day she just shot up and I think most kids do anyway. Tell me about it and I still can’t believe we have to keep the ‘report card’ until they reach school, so much pressure to not lose the card either, hehe.

Her dress/top is sooo girly and ruffly, love it! Haha, I’m a typical kiamsiap mum that buys clothes for Bubs in huuuuge sizes, Hubs asked if I was insane that day buying a 4 year old top for him (he’s around the same age as Sairah), lol. They grow like lalang!

Thank you Mrs Fashionista :) LOL dont worry, I do that sometimes esp when I really love the clothes I see – I want to maximize usage for it and you’re right, they grow so fast so nowadays I buy for 3-4 years.
