Hairy Tales

10 Jan

The hubby’s aunt who visited from US complimented me on my hair recently. She asked me what’s my secret to such shiny hair *bounces hair and strokes SHINY hair* Little does she know it’s because I was sitting under the light and as you know it, dark locks reflects light better, ahem.

Said awesome aunt who thinks I have shiny hair :D I was obviously grining from one end to the other coz hardly anyone compliments me thesedays :( Story of my life.

Before that let me digress a little bit. We met them in Pavillion for dinner on Friday and Sairah wore this gorgeous dress a friend bought from Melbourne.

This is her shocked ‘home alone’  look that I taught her!

OMG NO MILK???! THE HORROR!

She’s totally in love with this dolly, wants to carry it where ever she goes, wants to baby it and give it milk….too cute! Only thing missing is the baby’s stroller which I think is a tad creepy to buy….have you seen that in Toys R Us? C-R-E-E-P-Y!

Sayangggg dolly!

And I should let you know that Ben’s has one of the dumbest most uncomfie baby chair everrr!!!

Poor baby struggling in that stupid chair. She obviously sat on it for a good 10 minutes. But I”m so proud of her for leaving her hair clip on :D

Ok before I disgress furtherrr………..my secret is actually this followed by an awesome potent hair serum which my parents bought from Hong Kong. At least that’s what I think is responsible for the shine coz I have 1001 hair products in my bathroom.

Picked 2 tubes of it during our trip to Bali. Am currently running low on it, any ideas where can I get it locally?

And before I digress further again, I should have you know that I haven’t cut my hair in THREE freaking months. Or is that four months?? It’s super long now.

Below bra length to be precise :D *strokes super long hair, my preciousssss*

Banshee like hair until you can ‘t see me face, haha, but oooo so shiny!

It’s not that I don’t want to cut my hair and get rid of the split ends, I seriously just don’t have the time to step into a hair salon. It is indeed a luxury. Moms would tell you this.  Gone are the days of spending hours in a hair salon to get it  washed, steamed and treated using glorious treatments.

I feel so bad about lying to my new hair-stylist though coz I happily promised him after my hair cut that I”d like to color it and said I’d be back in one week’s time for that.

It’s been months since I went into hiding.

I don’t want to piss him off coz he’s actually an awesome hair-stylist, having worked in London and all for years.

Well now I’m hoping he’d forget my face and my big mouth when I go back there next

I only realized my hair was super long after seeing that photo. So naturally I shoved the camera in front of the husband’s face to ask him if I should maintain this wonderful length or cut it.

Immediatelywithout hesitating or even looking at that damn photo, he screamed, CUT IT. CUT IT OFF.

But but I look nice and feminine in long hair don’t you think? Just like old times….I said.

But you spend so much time getting it blow dried and ironed. It will be a whole lot faster if you have it shorter, he argued.

Hmpffff, MEN! What the hell do they know. Short or long hair, I stil take about 40 minutes to get ready which I think is a pretty awesome feat coz I can manage to wash my hair, blow dry this thick mop of a hair and iron it so I don’t look like a lion, slap on makeup, change bags and transfer its contents (happens when you’re a bag-aholic), pack up baby’s diaper bag AND still get dressed. Did he really think having shorter hair would cut down my preparation time to like 15 minute? Hmpff, fat hopes. I am a woman afterall :D I say it willl only take off 5 minutes, the most coz seriously how can cutting off 2-3 inches cut down time significantly? My sillyy silly man.

Come to think of it, I really oughta let my hair grow LONGER and let it shed all over the bed at the same time. In particular, his side of the bed :D Just because I can.

What about you? How long does it take to get ready? Hair and all? And don’t lie, esp if you’re a woman, haha :D

Hahaha, another post that made my day.

The first one was from thestar.com.my where our defense ministry blamed google translate for messing up their English translation on their official website. I mean, who the hell would not proof read their compilation before posting!? I was literally choking on my cup of joe.

Ok ok back to your post. Yeah yeah, I agree you do look pretty with long hair! Totally rivals that of a bollywood superstar, in fact, you top most of them. ;-) So leave it long if you can.

Sure maintenance and preperation time and all, but that’s just part and parcel of looking good aye?

And yeah! haha, that part where you threatened to shed your hair on his side of the bed… Priceless!!!! I choked the 2nd time, and nearly snorted the joe out of my nose. =P

Finally, My God, who ever thought of that baby chair design @ Ben’s must have hated kids! Sairah is just a champ for braving it through.

Well I’m glad it made your day :)

Hahahahaha yea I read that one. Its our government after all, I think we should expect these things of not checking their work before posting it :)

Aww thanks * big hug* but you don’t have lie coz no one can look better than Aishwarya Rai, nooo oneeeee. But yea, loving the long hair but my husband is right, getting it dried is quite the biatch, haha. But like you said, small price to pay :)And I”m quite the semangat to blow dry and iron it these days so…..plus it’s my ‘work out’ session for my arms, hehe.

OH YES, I shed alot of hair on the floor when I blow dry it and he tends to put on this horror look everytime he sees it so perhaps it’s about time I bomb his part of the bed.

Tell me about it. She started crying after a while and I had to wait for a few minutes for the waiter to help us coz only they knew how to use that stupid chair.

The story of my hair… its naturally unruly like yours i think, once i discovered the magical spell of rebonding, i used to do it every 9mths from my uni time… and at one point i discovered perming, and i got it done! loved my maggi mee look, my fren even commented they are like wild curls… by the time i got married i stopped doing anything to my hair for >6mths, imagine that, but suddenly i started loving my natural curls, of course they needed some nice creams and works… and then i got preggy… no dye no nothing… once Sanju was older i got it rebonded, and then preggy again… now i hv rebonded and got a bob… it will remain this way again till i perm again (yes i miss those wild curls)

My natural hair is totally unruly, like a cave woman’s hair! High five, I discovered the magic of rebonding back in uni as well, I do it at least once a year and thank god for my iron at home! I would be SO lost if my iron ever broke down. I’ve not done a perm before yet coz I”m afraid it will make my hair look big but I”m sure you rocked that curls alright. I remember being preggie and couldnt do anything to my hair – was soo frustrating. Now that I”m not, I dont even have time to do it. The irony. You got a bob? Wow that’s a nice look, easy to maintain and take care of too. Maybe you should get some wild curls done for 2012 once your hair is long enough eh.

My hair is unruly crazy without rebonding and I stopped doing that. It’s giving me super dry ends bcos of massive colouring frequently.

NEVER DO REBONDING WITH COLOUR TOGETHER. It make your hair really bad.

BTW, you have super healthy hair, dear. :)

    • TheMissusBlogs 11. Jan, 2012 at 9:30 am #

Hey Jessie, thanks for the tip. I never knew it would make the hair that bad, perhaps too much chemical dries out the hair? Try some home treatments. Okay now I have to think twice whether if I should color my hair, coz I dont want it to get dry. Would rather rebond than color.

Aww thanks, but I do have split ends. Need to get rid of that soon.

Wow you are definitely looking like a Yummy Mummy :)

*cough* *cough* I take about an hour to get ready unfortunately, especially if I’m wearing eye makeup. Otherwise I can rush in 30 minutes with wash and skip the blowdry. But my hair is quite short.

    • TheMissusBlogs 11. Jan, 2012 at 9:31 am #

      Hahaha no wayyyy!

Oh yea, smokey eyes takes a bit of time with the blending and what not. Anyway 1 hour is still a decent time frame if you ask me :)

      • Fieran 11. Jan, 2012 at 6:12 pm #

So far the bf hasn’t complained :) So I’m not too guilty about how much time I spend in front of the mirror..but who knows? In the future? Hehehe.

Have you considered using your hair’s natural texture? I have naturally wavy, thick hair and I used to fight against it for many years but after seeing how much people are willing to spend on volumizing products, I’m kind of glad I have that naturally.

You could try going to a different hairstylist, one who doesn’t try to convince you to rebond, but to use your own texture. It could be the gateway to a whole new look :)

        • TheMissusBlogs 12. Jan, 2012 at 10:23 am #

Hahaha of course of course, 1 hour is seriously nothing. I know some women who take 2 hours, though I seriously dont know what they do for that long?

Err my natural hair is wavy, thick and bumpy for some strange reason. I’ve thought about leaving it natural with a good cut, but the puffiness seriously turns me off, my hair can get pretty BIG, like I”m stuck in the 80s or something so no, I prefer to rebond coz it’s easier to handle my hair that way :p Maybe when I’m older I”ll try that :)

My advise — keep it long for as long as u can tolerate, then cut it when u feel like it. Cos it takes MONTHS to grow your hair long, and just MINUTES to snip it all off! And shed all u like. Maybe u can join me in this new venture I thot of — “Wigs R Us” :-) I shed a lot too, i’m pretty sure I’ll need that wig one day, so why not make it from my “excess” hair lolx!

    • TheMissusBlogs 12. Jan, 2012 at 10:46 am #

Hahaha well said! Plus sometimes these stylist dont understand what is 1cm! I always monitor them like a hawk incase they go over-board. Anyway, for now, I’m quite semangat to blow dry and iron my hair, will see how long I can keep this up. I reckon till February only.

LOL LOL “Wigs R US” – too cute!! Okay from now on, gonna collect the excess hair on the floor and keep it in a jar for future use, lol.

Oh wow… so nice to have healthy hair! I’m fed up of mine! Wish I knew what to do with it!? I used to have really nice black, shiny, thick & long hair! That was before I got married… and now… dry, no life hair!

    • TheMissusBlogs 16. Jan, 2012 at 12:48 pm #

Well it’s not 100% healthy, I still got split ends :( Why dont you check out my new hairstylist – he’s at Centro, in Gardens. Look for William, I’m pretty sure he’ll know what to do with it :)Maybe a nice bob or shoulder length?
