Labor Day Weekend

4 May

Come, let me indulge ya’all with my labor-day weekend activities :D  It was  pretty awesome and eventful hence heavy photos ahead….

Friday night

Mom was kind enough to babysit the brat  Sairah. So off we went for a Karaoke night out with the cousins! It was FUN FUN FUN and god we had SOOO much fun. Did I mention it was fun? Forgive me for its been a while…….

Don’t have the time to club anymore so I’ll just pose with Opera club at the background.

The excitment just to be out clearly shows on the husband’s face too :D We’re retarded that way.

Only Roshan will be able to eat (and with his damn bare hands at that too) AND sing at the same time.  In true Roshan style, it was an Indonesian jiwang song that had such dirty meaning to it…..

And these two fellas were singing……….yup, George Micheal’s CARELESS WHISPER to each other, lol.

Good song though :) No comments about them serenading each other.

So much passion in Suraj! Such a priceless photo me thinks. We just love to karaoke.

Not just Pepsi in there, ahem.

BabySis trying to be so poise in this photo, hmpf.

After the 3 hour singing our hearts out and filled with lots of food and drinks, we made our way for a quick drink at Rainforest Bistro.

The mall rats in the prowl after mall-hours. Dunno what those two Indian fellas are pointing at but all I know is we’re Indians, hand gestures while we talk are our thing!!

With no stroller in tow, we can finally hold hands,  all together now……….awwww :p

Saw the green ballons  at Maxis and thought it would be cool to blend in with it. Doesn’t get more gummi-bear than this!! Sairah is very proud of her old lady!

 Saturday

Obviously stayed the night at the parent’s (heh, just refuseeee to completely move out, I KNOW), and woke up to my gorgeous baby.

You don’t know it yet Ma, but I”m going to make life super difficult for you after my flu jab!! Just you wait…..

That’s right, took the little one for the flu jab, had a good 1 hour plus waiting time! Baby’s weight is average, though she’s about 1.5cm shorter than the average height (hold the shorty comments, she’ll catch up, just you wait), besides that, everything is peachy in Sairah-Land. She took her jab pretty well too, as usual. She’s a real trooper this one.

LOVE her monkey outfit from the States :D

Hi! I’m Sairah and I can handle jabs well coz of my fatty thighs

A quick milk feed before the jab. Can’t afford to have the baby scream over her jab AND hunger.

We headed to Subang Parade for some shopping, and before going home her daddy wanted to redeem some juice voucher so he pulled over at Empire and left us two in the car so he could get his damn free juices. So what’s a mommy and baby girl to do? Why whip out the camera and pose, what else!

This is her don’t -mess-with-me-or-my-mom-look or I-will-claw-your-face-out look. LOL

Mommy-Baby Love

This one’s for you :p

Come Ma, let meeeee take the photo

Saturday night – the cousins decided to drop by to check out the new pad. And of course visit the baby since they love her to BITS! She had a slight fever, but otherwise was rather clingy more than cranky so it wasn’t too bad yet…..

She could still afford a huge smile for the camera. As always.

Rosy about to go to dreamland. As usual. The only time he’s widely awake is when we go to LHT :D

Sunday

Baby was down with fever still, but otherwise she was perfectly fine playing with her toys. Soon after mid afternoon she started becoming extremely cranky and difficult to handle constantly wanting to be carried and demanding for attention. It got rather tiring to the point of us both feeling TIRED and sleepy.

If there ever was a return section in SDMC, we would have left her there.

Ok I”m kidddinnggggg!

So we thought some fresh air (ok not too sure about the fresh part) and a change of scenery would do her good so off we went to Plaza Damas for dinner.

AND IT WORKED!!! She was on her bestest behavior and just LOVED to be out. Got a few compliments from people, also one aunty said she’s cute, just like the mother, why thank you KIND aunty :D That instantly gave me the energy I needed.

Getting a bit too excited here, lol

Sairah wears the dress her old man got from Perth. The socks were mismatched as I left most of it at my parent’s place. But still, baby girl just rocked that mis-matched look!

Face of a super proud daddy.

Sexy back!

Monday

Labour day holiday is for a reason. For us workers to rest. And that includes doing nothing and NOT cooking.  That said, we obviously went out for lunch nearby.

My mom doesn’t cook on public holidays!

But that’s okay coz I LOVE going out :)

Daddy’s a nerd on public holidays, nyeeeek :p

The besties came over in the evening. It’s been AGES since I saw these two so it felt really good to have them around just to catch up. Plus it’s a bonus that Sairah likes them too :)

When you grow up, I’m the sort of man you should avoid big time Sairah, BabyDhee imparting some rather sound advice, lol.

And the look on Mena says it all!

Aunty Mena is whispering on how she wants Sairah as her daughter in law once she has her own son :D We’re cool like that.

With that, we said goodbye to our long fun weekend.

All ready for bed-time Ma. Where’s my milk?

And with that, she refused to sleep until 12 a.m from all that excitment.  Oh wells.  It was truly a good weekend :)

lol cute post! babe suthhi podu ur Sairah each time u’re bk home after bringing her out :)

Abt ur post on temp arrangements, it makes me think too.I can’t c much when I was in Msia as most working couples will be leaving closer to their parents home ( like u hehe!) or staying together wt in laws which made babysitting is easier.
What I’m surprised over here, working mum need to register with the daycare nearby their hs( in this case, its convenient coz daycare for babies and children mushroomed everywhere) during their 6th month of pregnancy. My MIL, herself, left my 3 months old hubby at the daycare, and started working till today lol!

I used to c parents will take turn to drop their toddlers at the daycare. Most of the daycare is nearby the train station, so as the parents got back from work, easier for them to fetch them back home.Since im laying eggs in the house now,I need to be fulltime mum lol! Thank god my in laws are gonna retire soon, at least I’ve some help and can save money on daycare :p

Btw, Im pregnant 2 months babe :)Just got confirmed last week.Terrrrrrrriblllllllllle nausea Im telling u..craving for nasi lemak la..;)

OMG you saved the best news for last in your comment. I”m SOOOO HAPPY for you! Congrats to you and hubby!! Sorry to hear about your nausea though, it will go away soon. I also had HUGE cravings for nasi lemak. Had it everyday at work. Wonder if it’s a girl then, she’ll be gorgeous! If boy I dont mind booking for Sairah, lol. Can u get nasi lemak there though, stupid question I know but I’m curious :)

Thanks, we also suthhi her when we come back for sure.

Yup I was told that it’s different there and even in OZ. Except in OZ it’s VERY expensive for daycare (equivalent to some people’s salary), that’s why some women chose to be stay at home moms. But in your case, I think your MIL will help you out right? Better than putting in day care la – have to run around alot to send and pick them up. It’s going to be tiring and there will be a huge change once you’ve given birth no doubt so get as much rest as you can now and eat whateverrrr you want! So happy for ya!!

    Woooooo~ Helloooo Roshan! =P

I love it how you and cousins are so close knit. Travelling together, and doing fun activities together.

It’s just something that I wish for from my part of the family but gave up doing so. All this while I have always been the initiator and at the end of the day, seeing how reluctant they are to barge… and being so pretencious and secretive about their lives… It’s just plain ol’ tiring.

Never hung out with any of them for a long time now. It’s sad… but for the better. I hate it when people get competitive with each other’s lives at wrong time.

LOL, he says Hi back :)

Well it helps that both our moms are close and we grew up together so these fellas are like pesky brothers, lol. I actually have more cousins but we’re not close at all.

I think a friend once said that he’s afraid of hanging out with cousins because you have to act in a certain way, like not get too drunk, watch what he says etc coz otherwise every other relative will find out. Family politics I guess. Why not suggest something that they would be keen in?

Ah well, ocassonally you get some competitive relatives, I really hate that! So much drama.

Sairah is such a doll! Oooh your friend’s son will be mixed, no? Now that boy will be a heartbreaker so definitely a great match for Sairah. Gorgeous needs gorgeous, right :)

Glad to hear you had a 3-day-weekend. Being a working mom is anything but easy, though I have to say you make it look effortless. *HUG*

In Norway, the moms get about 10 to 12 months of paid maternity leave so by time to child is almost a year old, then they go back to work. But finding a kindergarden for the child is like winning the lottery – it’s quite difficult to get a spot. So, sometimes the father takes his “pappa-permisjon” which is like paternity leave and takes care of the child. Paternity leave in Norway is 2 weeks for when the child is born and then another 10 weeks later that you can take anytime as long as your employer is okay with it. So if the parents cannot find a spot for the child in the kindergarden they use that 10 weeks to buy time. It’s tricky though.

Thanks! Yes he would be half indian and half swedish. LOL you’re too funny :) But I’m more keen in finding a nice MIL for Sairah more than anything else, hehehe. That or a MIL who doesn’t speak the same language, LOL.

Oh no trust me, I get alot of help from mom and sis :)

I heard about long PAID maternity leave in countries like UK, Norway, Germany etc and I”m envious of them. 2 months here is REALLY not enough esp when your baby hasn’t established a proper sleeping routine. Dads here only get 2 days paternity leave but my hubby is lucky to get 2 weeks as well. I didnt know they allocate you a spot for kindergarden, wow.
