My New Dell Inspiron 14R

My New Dell Inspiron 14R

Guess who got me the new Dell Inspiron 14R in PINK as a gift? :D

It’s extremely light weight (perfect for us ladies), sleek with an excellent design and comes with such superb screen.

And best of all, it comes in pink!! It is much more gorgeous in person, trust me.  My damn camera does no justice to its gorgeousness.

This baby works amazingly well for internet browsing, office work (what office work!) and no doubt is a great value-for- money machine for home use. The speaker sound on this one is amazinggggg. We’re both definitely impressed but my hubby has sworn off touching it too much since he doesn’t want to be caught dead using a pink machine :)

Baby Sis mentioned that it SOOOO pays off being knocked up coz the husband has been EXTREMELY generous ever since finding out about the pregnancy. Let’s just say what I want – I get :D  Something I could really live with and get accustomed to, hehe

Maybe he thinks it’s the least he can do since I am afterall carrying his baby and slowly giving up my bod *cue drama queen music*

Fingers crossed – he has even promised to take me to a place I’ve been wanting to go for the longest time sometime early next year. And to be honest, if he continues being this lovely, I seriously wouldn’t mind getting knocked up every single freaking year. Ok, I kid

The husband ordered my lappie online and for more info on the specs and reviews and what not (only coz I suck at it and you can tell), check it out here

The Suprise Gift

The Suprise Gift

I noticed my husband was running out of perfumes so I decided to suprise him with a little gift. After all, a loving wife always observes :D  Besides, he’s the sort of person who does not like to indulge/splurge in these things or would wait till it completely runs out. Sometimes it takes a bit of nagging and push before he buys things for himself.

So while we were out at the mall, I told him I wanted to check out some perfumes for myself. It was then that he decided to look out or rather sniff a new perfume.

After a good 15 minutes he finally settled on something he liked, but wanted the 50ml bottle which I’m guessing coz it was much cheaper. I told the salesperson to pack up the 100ml instead and went straight to the counter to pay for it and then told him it’s a gift from me to him :D

He was definitely suprised and to see the excitment on his face was pure bliss and something I wish I could do everyday :)

Oh and the new Perry Ellis 18 smells fantasticto on him!

House/Apartment Shopping

House/Apartment Shopping

I believe pregnancy instantly makes you grow up. I know its funny saying it given how I’m just 1 year shy away from being 30 therefore I *should* already be matured but I’ve always seen myself as a carefree person.

My husband sold the apartment a few months ago. I always saw it as a bachelor pad instead of a ‘home’ and till today I have no idea why he invested in all 993 square feet of it when he knew he was probably going to get married and settle down.

Lately I’ve been quite bent on buying a house since our baby will be arriving. Call it a need to find a nest or whatever you want. I simply can’t bear the thought of staying in a rented place, what more, shiver at the thought of the owner conveniently telling us she wants the place back when the baby arrives.

And then there’s our OZ move………frankly now with Peanut on her way, I doubt we’ll be making the move any time soon. Taking the big leap and risk to leave everything here and try our luck in a foreign land at this point is NOT the wisest thing a parent could do. I could never deny my own parents the opportunity of playing grandparents esp when they’re so keen and excited for the baby. They absolutely can’t do that here while we’re there. Period.

I’ve told my husband to extend his visa and truly believe it will be granted given our situation. He however doesn’t believe that would be the case.  I sometimes resent the fact on how he’s holding on to the prospect of moving to OZ this year. Because of this we’re giving up so many good opportunities to a great life in Malaysia itself. Malaysia may not be a perfect country, but it’s the only country I’ve grown up in and a place I call home, no matter how shitty things can be – politically. I stand by the notion that the grass is not necessarily greener on other side. Guess some people need to experience it first hand to find out

Ok now back to a house – I’ve been doing quite a bit of research and it’s ridiculous how landed property prices have surged over the years. We would love to get a house but given how it’s close to one million for a house in prime KL area, we’re now deduced to looking for an apartment.   On average, a decent home in KL area would cost – anywhere between RM800k-RM1.2 million   And apartment in a prime area would be  RM500k for less than 1,000 squarefeet and can go up to RM800k for a 1,500 squarefeet apartment. Even if you can find something within that price range,  you’ll still need to renovate it which would further cost you another RM50k. Insane much?  Trust me, I’ve done my research.

Some of the key features we’re looking for –

- Minimum space of 1,500 squarefeet and above – I’m not looking for anything humongous, perhaps just a little space so the baby can crawl

-Located in KL, preferably near my parents place – This is important to me because it will make dropping the baby off to my parents’ a whole lot easier once I go back to work.

- Within our budget - the lesser it is, the better :D

To date we’ve already seen one house that’s REALLY gorgeous – of course that’s like RM1.2 milion therefore it’s not something we’re even going to consider. Dad thought it would be a great idea just to have a look see (and also because it’s 5 mins away from my parent’s home) but I think that has only made me depressed on how insane the market price is here. Boy, the house was definitely gorgeous though *pray that I win the jackpot soon*

Anyway, I think this little romper that I got over the weekend at the Mother-Baby Expo in Mid Valley sums it all.

We’re doing all this for her :)

Cooking Diary – Variety Is The Spice Of Life

Cooking Diary – Variety Is The Spice Of Life

Let me entice you with some foodie porn picture, haha. All made with love over the past few days coz I got bitten by the cooking bug. Weirdly enough, I got ALL the recipes from Kuali.com  I just made some modifications to the recipe to suit my husband’s Indian taste buds.

Pasta with creamy sauce with Chicken Bratwurst

Clearly quite a winner with its creamy thick texture which pleased the hubby.

Decided to cook some Malay food (inspired from our trip to Bijan Restaurant) and went for the easiest one – Ayam Masak Merah!!

Excuse the dried chillies because somebody wanted it a tad spicy. It was a bit sour at first because of the can of tomato paste so maybe in the future I’d halve it instead - beats adding lots of sugar to balance the taste!

Nothing like a side of rice and eggs to go with it!

And let me tell you a story behind this dish. We decided to take a short evening nap and next thing you know it was close to 8pm. In my groggy state of chopping up some onions, the knife slipped and slit open my bloody (pun please) finger!!!!

And of all fingers, the most important one – the coveted third finger!

Thankfully this all happened right before the husband was about to go swim. So I quickly called for him while he made sure I put a lot of pressure on it, and helped me wash it, put ice on it followed by a plaster and finally ended it with a kiss on my finger.

I was smart enough to quickly take a sit on the sofa as well, coz the last thing I need is fainting on the floor risking my poor bump.

At one point the blood was still oozing so I asked him several times if he knew what he was doing and he said, don’t worry, I know what I’m doing, relax……….I’m a doctor’s son!!  Funny man this one but bless him for helping me chop everything else up

Then next day, with a bandage in one finger, I decided to go Chinese and made Char Kuey Teow.  It was decent and quite tasty but must remember to add in prawns the next time.

Finally the last dish – made by the hero since he so insisted. And quite frankly I got bored of cooking :p

A dish easy to conjure up – maggi goreng!! And he’s not sweating from all that cooking, he got back from a swim. I told him it’s always a bad idea to cook semi naked but of course I wont say no to some eye candy prancing around my kitchen :D

Legend Water Chalet, Port Dickson

Legend Water Chalet, Port Dickson

We decided to go on a short road trip to Port Dickson, just to get away from the city for the weekend.

Heh, you can see my husband collecting his  rod

We checked into Legend Water Chalet, which is a real good place to stay in PD. Why? Because for starters all their chalets are built on water stills

Nice? And if that’s not enough, the chalets were also pretty unique. When you open the door, you actually see the bath tub first!!! Yes, you walk straight into the bathroom before heading to the bedroom :)

Open air shower anyone? Although it’s a little tad creepy when you’re taking a shower at 2 a.m in the morning and can’t help but notice that ’something’ might be peeking at you from up there. Maybe it’s just me being weird! Still a good experience though.

And then you have the room, which was small but cozy and romantic for two. There’s also a day bed near the window if you wish to do some serious thinking or even read a book :)

The husband grabbed the camera and told me to give the cutest smile ever and so I did….I think, hahaha

Oh and the day bed is good for some weekend romancing too ;)

My only gripe about the room is that it doesn’t come with a proper dressing table in the room itself! Infact, there are no mirrors in the room at all. If  you were not born with great hair (like me!), standing in front of the dressing table in the bathroom (that doesn’t come with a chair to sit on mind you) drying your hair can be quite annoying.  And let’s not mention that it’s not cooling enough after a hot bath which I SO enjoy.

The other feature is the small but cute patio that overlooks the ocean.

Great place for fishing too. And I never knew the husband was into fishing – sometimes it’s amazing how we keep learning new things about our partners, even after years of being together. Well as long it’s the good stuff! And not something out there like how he used to like men before or along those lines, haha.

Nothing like a few drinks before bringing out the rod :)

And this went on even after dinner. The fishing, not the drinking :p

He didn’t managed to catch a single fish but that didn’t stop him from attempting it the next morning

Not feeling too happy that he couldn’t catch a single thing, poor baby!

Feeling a little dejected, we made our way home. And that’s also a sad face for leaving Legend Water Chalet so soon.

But guess what, I’m pretty sure we’ll be back soon because we  spotted the Legend International Water Homes that comes with your own freaking private pool overlooking the ocean!!! How amazing is that?
