Artsy Fartsy

Artsy Fartsy

So we know the little one loves the camera.

And it’s safe to say she takes this great trait after her mother, ahem

Good God, look how slim I was back then! Damn you child birth!

Yea you’re right, these pics are actually TOTALLY irrelevant. I found my old folder yesterday containing lots of photos back in the day and couldn’t resist putting it up. Please la, let me have my moment pleaseee. More to come for sure, hehe.

Okay now I’m depressed coz I look so different now :(

Moving on moving on…..

The little one’s father is quite the artist. Not the glam type but the one who can draw really well. I’ve seen some of his paintings and man, it’s amazing how those stubby fingers can actually draw that well. So I wondered, hmmm, would she take after her father’s skill? For the record Sairah has these freakishly long fingers like mine, so there is no doubt she will flourish at playing instruments but have to give in to the hubby a bit sometimes too I say.

Oh we’re gonna do what now on a Sunday?!

Are these even edible mommy?

Scribble scribble scribble….imma gonna draw a gieeeee.

The ‘artist’ giving some pointers to the little one.

After a while, this was the outcome. Except most of the retarded part came from mommy :D

You can tell I have zero drawing skills. I used to cheat in school by making my mom draw and swapping it with her work during exam :)

That’s daddy alright, you can tell from the nose, lol. And those little green obsession around him :D

After the drawing session, she managed to find my brand new eyeliner and decided it was something she would prefer to do with her free time!!

Naughty face ON! Let’s see what mischief I can come up with this thing in my hand.

Can I eat it?

Can the horsey eat this?

Oooo reckon I should hide it in my bicycle?

Oh hai mom, swear I have no notty thoughts going through my little head.

There, now mommy’s not gonna get to use this at all.

Took me a while before I could get hold of it back. I suspect this girl is going to be going through my makeup stash in a few years from now.

Btw, never knew I”d see the day where I would pick this up. It was a spur of the moment thing but I have to say, the eyeliner is pretty good, I have it on right now, hehe :) Support local brands!

And this was something her daddy picked up being such an artsy person that he is. He got it at a bargain and after much thoughts where we should put it (I should mention that we have enough paintings in the apt already), we decided it should go in Sairah’s room.

I suck at interpreting paintings but all I could say to the hubby was, ‘the white goes really well with her pink wall’ :D

Which is why I’m always in charge of dressing up baby girl coz I can color coordinate well, ahem, lol.

Sairah Wanna Be On……

Sairah Wanna Be On……

TOP! (I sing this theme song to my baby girl almost every day and yes it drives some people nuts and more nuts now that she has picked it up, hah)

A while ago, I posted at the side bar for votes for my Baby Sairah to stand a chance to win a contest. She didn’t come out first, or second or third…….but came out no 9 (hey like her birth month). All 12 babies were then asked to attend a photo shoot as Marvelous Baby is coming up with their 2012 calendar.

Yup it’s going to be a super duper CUTE calendar! More info on that later.

We were asked to attend a shoot last Thursday. More specifically at 9a.m!! My darling girl now wakes up at 10 a.m everyday so I was very nervous the night before whether we’d be ready on time. I put her to sleep slightly early and although I kept waking up a lot, I was surprised to see how Sairah slept through the night!! She promptly woke up at 7.50 a.m (which is indeed amazing) even before my alarm went off so we rushed to get her ready and were there in the nick of time. I don’t know why but I was SUPER nervous!! On Sairah’s behalf!

But the little one on the other hand was quite the diva, lol.

Oh can’t you tell it’s really early? :p

Mom, chill, I OWN this alright, let me just have my turn so we can go back home!

The wait was indeed long, about 1 hour, so daddy entertained her by walking around

While mommy gave her some prep talk to build up her confidence :D

And of course some beary-licious HUGS.

We were given two sets of clothes so we changed her into the first.

We got to work with the wonderful Asther Lau who coincidently did my pregnancy and family shoot. Sairah went off in pairs with a pair of twins from Ecuador (talk about being international eh).

While Asther was busy shooting the twins, I put my little one on the tiny baby bed to prep and warm her up. I started getting her into the mood by taking photos of her and after a while Asther noticed that and decided it was Sairah’s turn to shine.

When is it gonna be my turn?!

I”m pissed with the hubby because he was too busy juggling the diaper bag and errr my handbag to even take those real posing shots of Sairah hence I only have these warming up photos :(

And boy did she make us SUPER proud!! She posed almost instantly like a pro, smiled for the camera, did the whole hand under the chin (and I really don’t know where she picked that one from)……..she was throughout a happy happy baby!

She got her shots done in under 5 minutes I think. PERFECTO!

Then it was off for a second change!

More prep talk going on, lol. My husband says I’m living vicariously through Sairah. Pffff. What a BIG word! I am officially Sairah’s manager though :D

Truth be told, I see alot of potential in my baby girl………..and I intend to be the sort of mother who polishes their natural talent while allowing my child to dip their itty fingers and toes into anything they want! And I wont even hold it against them should they decide to switch into something else a few months down the road because variety is the spice of life!

 I’m cool like that.

I really love this outfit on her. And I absolutely LOVE the Sereni and Shentel baby headgear on her. Unfortunately it was a bit of a tight fit so……..hoping they’d make bigger size ones soon :D You can pick it up on Marvelous Baby’s store soon too :D

Shine baby shine (picture credit to Marvelous Baby). You can tell how fat proud I am in the photo. Asther took some pretty nice shots of her before missy tumbled down with the baby chair. A model’s life is tough I tell ya :D

It’s a wrap!!

We truly did enjoy this session so much. Now the hubby is so convinced this is Sairah’s calling (that is until she’s big enough to do more good things for this world like be a world famous surgeon, ahem). All he did was talk about how well his princess did at the shoot the ENTIRE day :D

I’m a star fish mommie!

I love moments like these…..where you discover your child’s potential and have that absolute annoying smirk on your face that money can’t buy.

Even the child has a smirk on over her own accomplishments :)

Sairah and her Pangy (aka Penguin)

And yes if you need a baby talent you know who to contact. Ahem.

Can’t wait for the end product!! I’m almost tempted to give away these calendars to those who comment on this post, lol :D

The Look

The Look

My 14 month old has picked up this bad habit of showing ‘the face’ which we all aptly call the Ju-On face :D

It’s the face she pulls when one of us raise our voice to tell her a firm NO. Basically it’s the look she gives us when she knows we’re mad at her over something. Sometimes she does it for the heck of it coz she knows it scares our helper and makes those around her burst into a hysterical laugh! She is indeed fast becoming a very colourful and vibrant toddler :)

Did you just say NO to me?? Did you??! Challenge accepted!

That photo is just merely a ’subtle’ one compared to the real thing. I’ll have to record it one day coz it’s just too adorable and scary at the same time!

We were trying to figure out who she got it from. Everyone pointed fingers at me coz when I’m annoyed, heck, it shows on my face. Plus I have this habit of pouting a little sometimes unknowingly. My mom says I do this alot in my sleep, well I wouldn’t know now would I?!

I should further clarify though that this is the look is usually specially reserved for the annoying husband.

Can’t recall what I was mad about, probably coz she refused to hold the bread or something along the lines. Let’s not forget she also made a BIG poo poo minutes before that and I had err poop inside my finger nails (motherhood is VERY glamorous I tell you). It could also be a case of a bad photo of moi. I really do think it’s the latter coz this photo was taken at Pizza Hut and missy was in a good mood.

She was experimenting with this Home-Alone look. Expressions – she has FULL of em it’s not even funny! My little drama queen.

I”m so happyyyy todaaayyy

*tadaaaaa*

Okay now I”m bored. Ma, come smell both my pitts!

Wait, now I remember, she was being naughty by refusing to sit still and wanted to tear up tissues.

Then I flipped back some photos and noticed how my girl has that same signature pout (yes she has her mother’s cute nose and pout, heh)

Hers was more of a I’m-bored pout more than anything else. Nevertheless she got it from me. She got it from her mama, she got it from her mama………

But now, she has this stare-cock look on her when we scold her. She did this a month ago, which we found hilarious coz can you imagine a 13 month old fart putting on a how dare you raise your voice at me look?? She does this most to our helper, her aunt and father because she knows she can bully them. Plus it doesn’t help that  they tend to  break out into a fit of laughter whenever they see that face on. She probably thinks it’s some sort of entertainment and absolutely revels in it.

How dare you raise your voice at me to buckle up my seat??!

HA HA HA did I scare you mommy? Did I?

I did didn’t I?

Lil entertainer this one! With me, she proceeds with that face for as long as she can, but constantly breaks out into laughter herself first coz hey who is she kidding, she can’t defeat the person who came up with that face in the first place!! So far she only pulls this ‘trick’ with us thank God.

Yea it’s an ugly look, but I can tell you it works coz it gets the job done and the husband scared of you :D

But for now, I have to keep telling her to stop doing that or else she’ll permanently have that face on, like her mother’s, haha.

No wait, that’s not even suppose to be funny.

Meh.

When A Straight Man Gives ‘Fashion’ Advice

When A Straight Man Gives ‘Fashion’ Advice

I’m still very much in the holiday mode even though I’m back to work. That said the weekend is just a few hours away :D

The hubby and I have been contemplating on throwing a Hallowen party like forever! But we never got to that, perhaps we’ll wait for Sairah to be a little older so that she can join in the fun.

Meanwhile, no costume needed – the little one’s hair can be crazy sometimes, like so:

In conjunction with Hallowen, I wanna go as Edward Scissorhands mommie!

Ma, why you no comb my hair??! I’m scaring myself.

Who knew her hair was capable of doing that, lol

Am trying really hard to trim her hair, but it’s SO tough as she won’t sit still. Last night I manage to trim the left side and her ‘fringe’ as she slept. Couldn’t do the right coz as I turned her, she woke up so now she has unbalanced hair, lol. This weekend this mommie is on a mission to make her daugther’s hair sane again!

Totally unrelated but this is what happens when I take fashion advice from the hubby:

Was gonna roll down that socks when he said to leave it as it is, more punk-ish that man said and this was the result:

Seriously can’t imagine Sairah in a punk outfit. She is meant to be sugar sweet and wrapped in all things girly! :D

I aptly call this the Harajuku look, sure did get alot of look from people in the mall. Hmm, are you digging this look? The hubby thinks he started a trend but I”m 50-50 with this one.

Please feel free to sing along to Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku song…..coz that damn song is going through my head now.

Moral of the story: Never take ‘fashion advice’ from a man who can’t even dress himself well:D

Dressing up a baby girl should solely be a mother’s job. Period. From now on he cleans her poop and I will decide what she wears
