Turning 34 With An Awesome Coffee Machine

Turning 34 With An Awesome Coffee Machine

My husband officially turned 34 years OLD yesterday!

And because I got super excited and couldn’t wait, I gave him his gift a day before the birthday while we were in my parent’s place. So he could go to work the next day and tell his colleagues what his wonderful wife got him!

While he was downstairs talking to dad, I ran up and arranged his gift on the bed.

Is that for meeee? wonders Baby Sairah.

Okay when daddy comes in, what are you gonna do?

Why, I’ll give him this cutest, sweetest angelic look, like this:

And then, I’ll pass him his b’day card.

He’ll be super touch coz we said we wanted to get him a nice sports car but couldn’t afford it so we had to settle on buying this gift instead. It’s the thought that counts :o

Then I’ll try my luck at opening the present…

Hmm, wonder what my wifey got me this time? Trust me when I say it’s starting to get tough deciding what to buy this man!! But kudos to me for lugging around this HEAVY gift all the way from Mid Valley to Garden’s carpark despite my poor back.

The smile that says it allllll

I obviously nailed that perfect gift :D I got him the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Circolo because my husband is a serious coffee drinker. That man drinks at least 3 cups to keep him running. Plus it did help that I caught him checking out this machine a few months ago but knew he’d be too stingy to buy it for himself :D

Coffeeeee machineeee

And because we have limited varities in Malaysia, I got hold of someone from the UK to help buy me various capsule flavors to satisfy his coffee cravings. Check here out to see how many crazy flavors they have there!

I got the man least 7  packs (I’m crazy I know! ), ahem, so that’s coffee enough to last 2-3 months I reckon :D But I do seriously hope Nescafe would bring me more flavors coz the current ones we have is kinda pathethic! Just four freaking flavors :(

Baby girl in her naughty mode

MINE! I WANT COFFEE

Coofffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee……………Haha proof that Sairah isn’t exactly angelic sometimes, lol

She’s starting to hate wearing socks. Constantly finds ways of pulling it off. Even her shoes too.

Of course we got home and somebody couldn’t wait to set up his new coffee machine. It was set up in a jiffy coz instructions are pretty straight forward.

Oh hai, just setting up me new coffee machine

All done. Doesn’t she look pretttyy? Now we’re quite keen on having nice coffee mugs/cups and the whole works to go with our little ‘cafe’. Shit man, we’ll NEVER have to step into Starbucks or Coffeebean and pay cut-throat high prices for coffee anymore. Now we’ll have good coffee to go. What I love about this is the convenience!  Beverage is done in less than 1 minute (perfect for a lazy wife like me, then again I usually let the coffee/tea making to the husband, heh), you can always pack it to go in a nice tumbler and have this on the way to work…….such a nice machine to have seriously and I have no regrets purchasing this for us the husband. My only complain is the loud sound that it makes when it’s in action, lol but we can live with it….

We were deciding which flavors to try first, but it was late and we didn’t want any coffee intake.

Good thing I bought choco-cino which is a beautiful smooth blend of hot chocolate! You can actually control the milk level if you don’t want it too milky. So far I”ve tried this and the Mocha and just lovee lovee it.

LOL the look that says it all. It was superrr yummy! But now I gotta find ways of making sure we have ample supply of this.

And then on his birthday morning, somebody actually work up EARLY (he almost never wakes up early for work!) so he could get ready and serve himself a hot cup of coffee!

I can already see that this gift was indeed love at first sight.

P.s: I purchased this at Harvey Norman and got a 8% discount with some free samples in view of their sale. Sale is on till end of this month, incase anyone is keen :D Machine also comes with a 2 year warranty, sweet!

Diwali The Chilled Out Way

Diwali The Chilled Out Way

Diwali has always been a laid-back chilled out affair in my household. Always consisted of visiting some relatives (or they would come over), binging, eating, watching tv,  more eating, lazing around – see told you, chilled out as chilled out can be! It does almost appear like any other weekend except it truly is a GREAT time and excuse to gorge on sweets and delicacies which my mom would make oh so deliciously! My mom would always spend days cleaning up the house and altar before Diwali and cook up a storm on that day itsef.

On the surface it may seem non- traditional at all, but honestly, it’s the best type Diwali we could ask for :D And safe to say, it doesn’t make us any less Indian or Hindus because end of the day we do more good than evil and that matters the most :) [Kinda beats those who do lots of evil yet go to the temple and pretend to be pious innit] (sorry digressed a bit, heh).

Anyway my uncle turned the BIG 60 a day before Diwali. He flew down from Hyderbad to celebrate it with everyone. It was held in Lala Chong in Subang (awesome food really). I was in charge of getting the cake :D  You can never go wrong when you let the person with the sweetest tooth be in charge of the cake I tell you :)

No guesses who I ordered the cake from! Haha :D  Little did I know that Eunice was probably baking my birthday cake at the same time this order came in. Since he works for an airline company, I just had to ask her to include a little air- plane but someone pointed out about the missing ‘tail’! So if this was a real plane, the pilot would have problems taking off I reckon.

The cake was extremely yummy nevertheless, extra moist with a sweet icing to go with it! A total hit!

Birthday boy all smiles as we sang the compulsory birthday song. My aunt looks so happy here :)

A family potrait

A group photo. I think I forgot to take a photo of the hubby, can only see his shoes, lol

There, a complete group photo!

Baby Sairah wore that  pink dress. It finally can fit her well and boy does she look soooo sweet in it!

She was also much happier sitting in the ‘adult’ table so I let her grandma take care of her. Baby Girl was too cool for our table apparently :D

They even have a karaoke set in the private room so my dad belted out Si Jantung Hati, LOL. It’s his favorite Malay song. If you know how rotten his malay usually is, you’d be suprise how he can even sing in malay!

Then obviously we took over and had a blast belting out to various soapy songs. And I sang my heart out SOBER – so proud of myself *pats back*

This was the morning of Diwali. And we look as chilled out as possible. Why? Coz we got to celebrate it in KL this year, wohooo!! And ooo I love how shiny my hair looks thesedays. I think it has to do with turning 30, LOL

BIG kiss for Baby Sairah.

We decided to have a simple lunch out, just the three of us. Since I was going to redeem my chocolate fudge cake from Merienda De Eva, decided we would eat there too to reminisce our Phillipines trip. God I miss Makati!!

Chicken Relleno – which was a combo of turkey and chicken. Really good, even the mash potato was good and a hit with Sairah.

This Grilled Chicken dish was sweet, just like how the Filipinos like it.

Baby Sairah’s lunch – I kid. Don’t be fooled by the carrot in her mouth, it was just for ’show’. Or rather as a ‘teether’ and to keep her busy.

HAH fooling everyone into thinking I”m having my vegs when I’m not even biting into it. Suckers!

Aah, no one does cakes better than the Filipinos. This is the Banana Toffee cake. Pretty good but not as good as their signature Chocolate Fudge cake!  And I love the little message left on the plate. It was a nice day indeed :) Coz after that we actually headed to Amcorp to pick out my birthday gift :D

Ah this is more like it. Cake monster attacking the cake :D

As we were leaving the restaurant the waiter (yes it was a dude) said the husband looks handsome with his shades hence this look of happiness! Yes this man indeed loves his compliments since I’ve stopped giving him any after Sairah’s birth. She gets all my compliments now :)

In the evening we packed up our bags and went to my parent’s place for a simple house party.

Sairah getting an angpow from Grandpa.

She loves her money alright. Little piggie bank is growwwing!

Even our old lil doggie joined in the fun and festivity.

Sairah and her favorite Uncle. Pictured at the back is the husband and his whiskey. Somebodddy had a little hangover the next day, yet had to drag himself to work :D

More angpow!

More eating!

Our Man-ny for the day, tee hee. We’re seriously thinking of hiring him on weekends.

And that was how we celebrated our Diwali in KL. LOVED every second of it. Hope you all had a good one too :D

Diwali should fall on a weekday, every year I swear :) Just saying, ya know? ;)

Having Your Chanel Bag And Eating It Too

31 Oct

Having Your Chanel Bag And Eating It Too

I’m THIRTY, the BIG 3-0, and can officially say that I have lived life for three decades now!!!

Damn I never knew that day could come so quickly :D Where did all that time go to seriously? I feel like my 20s absolutely zoomed by me in a hurry to catch a train.  Now that number 30 kicked 29’s butt, I’d like to think I”ve embraced my new age gap, ahem, VERY well so far, at least for the past 4 days. Though I am going to miss filing up my age group as 25-29, but I do look forward to checking out 30-35 instead!

I suppose embracing turning 30 could partially be due to the fact that  I don’t feel 30 at all. I definitely don’t act like one (a subtle way to say that I”m not that wise afterall, hehe). Of course I”d like to also say I don’t look 30 either but that’s very subjective,  By all means do comment and tell me I don’t look 30, pls?!

I am still this same old person I’ve always been. MUCH fatter physically obviously, but the SAME person inside  which I think matters the most in life :D

This is the suprise cake that I got when the clock  hit 12 a.m.  A Chanel bag. Gorgeous isn’t it? I can only imagine how much effort and time Eunice sinked herself into creating this master piece.

If you think I got this bag as a b’day gift, you’re WRONG. Though I may love bags, I don’t think I would ever let my husband splurge an obscene amount of his hard earned cash for a bag. But if he did strike a few million dollars in lottery then perhaps I wouldn’t mind at all, heeh (Fickle as it sounds, I”m still a woman, helloo!)

YES I was actually pondering if I should really cut the cake up! Everyone around me said I should because the real Chanel bag was hiding inside the cake, lol, yes I am surrounded by a bunch of jokers.

Gosh, totally felt SO bad after slicing it up. I hope the bag Goddess forgives me for such a brutal act and showers me with more bags? Ahem. A girl can still wish okie. 30 bags for every year that I”ve lived if I had it my way.

Can you imagine if this really happened to someone’s Chanel bag? Instant heart-attack yo.

Again, must show off how gorgeous this is. Head to Eunice’s blog (yes I told her she’s my officially go-to person for cakes) and thanks Baby Sis for picking this up! It was totally a suprise!! Was told she gave us a pretty good discount for this cake (like BabySis always says ‘friend-friend price’, as opposed to customer price what else!) :D

Now to the hubby’s gift! YES I didn’t think he would get me a gift since he took me to Europe but what do you know – he can be quite generous sometimes though I really wish he didn’t coz now I have to get him something nice for his birthday next year!

I actually already knew what I was going to get because someone couldn’t decide which model to get and wanted me to ‘test’ it first , afterall it’s very important to him that I actually LOVE my gift :D Men take note, when in doubt, just ASK, it might ruin the suprise, but hey at least you know your woman will be HAPPY with her gift!

But for the sake of my birthday, he actually took the trouble to wrap the gift himself and for all that trouble he went through I actually acted suprised :) And mmm shy?!

Got a G12 yo! And the reason why I wanted this was so I can take better quality pictures of Sairah. It’s ALL about Sairah :) She makes a good excuse for awesome gifts.

The card.

I couldn’t carry out the task of butchering the bag cake so I got mom to do it. You can tell she’s not a fan of bags, LOL

Since I’ll never get to carry the real deal, here’s me ‘carrying’ my Chanel bag.

Which I later ATE coz it tasted so damn good. Let’s just say personally that bag is indeed better off in my tummy :D  It was THAT good! Now how many of you can say that eh? :)

I had the day off on Thursday and had plans of getting a massage, mani-pedi, you know the full works to pamper myself on my birthday when I was hit by the lazy bug (happens when you’re me, too lazy to get pampered, haha). So instead of that, I drove mom, BabySis and Sairah to the mall for a few hours. Couldn’t have gotten any better than that.

Baby girl just woke up from her slumber. She seems to LOVE breadsticks from Italiannies.

Her 30 year old mommy with an almost similiar color outfit like hers. And if you look closeeee enough, you’ll spot a strand or two of silver hair.

Signs of aging they say?

BAH, I’d like to say it’s a sign of being WISE! VERY WISE :)

Opening Birthday Presents

Opening Birthday Presents

Have you ever seen a  baby open their birthday gifts once the party is over?

It really is like having a party all over again :D An after party if you insist :D

The sheer excitment shown on a child’s face as she explores the unknown is absolutely comforting and a look I wouldn’t mind getting used to everyday.

A before photo if you must :)

No I refuse to smile woman coz my party finished!

You can trrryy to make me smile mommie but it ain’t gonna work. Period.

SNAP, what’s all that??!

Oooooo, is that for meee? (well sometimes even her mommy has this look when the hubby gets her something out of the blue) Standard look on most women me think :D

Let me open that one first.

Can I just get a closer look at it ma?

Ooo and that’s an activity cube it says??

Sairah’s own laptop – thank you Aunty Mena :D

More presents you got there for me lady?

My back-up photographer, Anusha,  hard at work, hehe

Sairah’s engineer Uncle hard at work assembling her lil toy. Yes all my lil minions are hard workers, lol

Of course baby girl insisted to help out which slowed down the process of assembling :)

Her favorite Uncle helping her put on her pants. Doesn’t get more awww than this!! And this is coming from a fella who has NO prior baby-sitting experience :)

Gotta love the PINK Disney bicycle. It’s a lovely gift from her Subang Grandma and Baby Girl loves it to bits.

APPROVED. Super love this shot.

She loved it so much that even her feet were laughing, hehe

Well I suppose now we wait for her to grow taller too before her lil feet can even reach the pedal.

She’s already doing the ‘vrrooom vrroom’ sound everytime she sits on her bicycle when we push her around. Too cute!

Pondering on what she can store in her lil basket

I’m thinking my milk bottle.

And lots of it woman! YES, that’s what I’ll do!!

Sairah Bear & Bear

Dear Bear, I promise to love you forever, muaaaah!

Check out my baby’s rides parked in her room, lol

But wait, I digress…..it aint complete till she gets a car!

Saw this yellow camaro in Toy R US and it freakin cost RM2k!!

Daddy looking at Sairah and pondering if it’s really worth the splurge. I could almostttt sense he was going to buy it for his precious love.

But it was obviously a no hence the daddy pleaseeeeee look :) Anyone with RM2k cash to spare, please do contact me :) We will love you long timeee!

I’m so happyyyy todaaaayy!

Oh yea doing her signature shuffle move…..

Bounced all the wayyy to the photographer for a close up :)

OH YEAA best you recognize the Birthday Girl yo!

Aah babies and presents. Then again, who isn’t into gifts eh? :D

Gosh, if someone were to put a  gun to me and say bitch pick a single ONE photo that you love, I would rather say you know what, shoot me coz I love em ALL! PRESSIES! Best part of the party, hehe

FOOD! Also the best part of any party :D

Hubby’s Aunt from Guam – she is GORGEOUS! No one ever believes me when I tell em she has 3 kids.

Heart this photo – nothing like some good satay on a Friday afternoon yo.

Nick – before he stained his clothes. Then again, he said stained shirts are always an indicator of good food, lol

Lil Princess made her way about half an hour after all guest had arrived.  Obviously the star of the party just HAD to make a grand entrance :) She was most definitely in the DAZE and I don’t blame her. She did thread the restaurant very very carefully, most of the time wondering what the heck is going on.

Her gorgeous tutu dress is courtesy of one of my besties in the UK. Thank you Wylane, it looked perfect on her.

(A)

Hmm something verrry strange is going on here.

But I”ll get to the bottom of this SOON.

Dad’s cousin and a close family friend.

Madhu, her hubby and her sweetheart son, Siddarth. Check out those BIG eyes!

After a while, mom and I actually changed her outfit into the dress I got her in Phillipines. YES, there was actually a dress change, lol. I was only 2 months pregnant when i got that dress :) It FINALLY came to good use. And to think I only paid less than RM40 for it?

(A)  At the same time it finally sunk into my baby’s mind that it was indeed HER special day and boy did she make the most of it. Till today the hubby and I often wonder where does she get those attention-loving genes from since we’re both on the quiet side.

YAY it’s my parttaaaay *clap clap*

(A) I’m soooo happyyyy todaaaay!

And because I’m sooo happppy everyone gets a flying kiss *muaaah*

Okay Sairah are we ready to cut your birthday cake?!

Can we cut the cake now hubby?

Thank you Eunice for the wonderful awesome cake. Everyone was super pleased.

Pretty obvious that Sairah-Bear would get a BEAR cake isn’t it? :D

Sairah’s first candle – make a wish baby girl.

(A) Chopping the bear’s head. Felt so bad after that. Having a cute cake is hard sometimes!

(A) Birthday girl having a taste of her own cake.

She obviously approved. Doing her signature ‘tadaaaa’ and enjoying every single minute of it.

Mommy and Daddy butchering cutting the cake.

Okay what should I get up to next mommie?

Then all of a sudden that lil girl went on a KISSING spree

One kiss for Siddarth.

One kiss for cousin Kasi

Another kiss for Uncle

God knows how many people she kissed that day. Daddy needs to a buy a shot gun soon I reckon.

GROUP PHOTO!

With Dhash, her hubby, Nikhil and her niece.  Believe it or not but we actually met on my blog! From exchanging emails and tips many times, I’m so happy that she showed up for Sairah’s birthday. Plus now that Sairah actually kissed her son on his LIPS, I’m guessing there will be many more playdates to come :D

The Loh Family
