A Why I Can’t Comprehend
29 Dec
My mom got robbed of her gold chain while she was out at the market. Robbed by two fucking illegal low life immigrants which this damn government needs to put a stop and do something. We’re just so thankful that she was not harmed in any way except for bruises in her arms, legs and neck and that her handbag wasn’t taken. But the more I think about it, why should we even feel thankful that she was spared of that when such a thing shouldn’t have happened to anyone in the first place ? She fell to the ground but managed to break her fall otherwise I dare not imagine what other damages could have happened. She’s extremely sad over the lost of her chain which was with her for the past 20 years.
Sometimes I don’t understand how this fucking universe works. I just don’t get it. She’s the nicest most sincere person I know on this planet and I’m not just saying it coz she’s my mom. YET, she had to go through such an ordeal which she did not deserve. At all. It’s not about losing the gold chain; it’s the trauma of having to go through something that she clearly didn’t deserve. It breaks my heart every time I think about the way she was violated by those scums.
Did God forget to give them a conscience or heart? Why did he award them such ‘bravery’ and strength to pull off such a stunt? Why wasn’t HE on a look out for her? Why doesn’t HE look out for the good? Why did HE have to go create such people and call them his children?
Why? Questions after questions to myself, yet I can’t seem to find a decent answer.
Why should such a thing happen to her when I know of other mean people who deserve ten times fold, yet they get along life quite nicely!!! Why?
Really makes you wonder sometimes, what the fuck is wrong with this bloody world and if life itself is one big sick twisted joke.
I hope they rot in hell for their sins. All of them.
P.s: After going to see the doctor to get a tetanus jab, she actually came home to cook and bathe my daughter despite us telling her not to. That’s my mom for you. And I will personally fucking tear up the next scum who brings her any harm so help me god!

Everything has a reason for happening. nice blog you have
Hi Adam, I always say that but this time I just don’t understand why. Thanks.
I think God did give everyone of us conscience and will so free that sometimes those fucking thugs misuse the will so free…………..
i know no amount of console can make your mum not sad for losing her prized stuff over 20 years, sincerely i hope she will not let this event ruin her emotionally,,,, take care of her ya,,,,,,,,,,
Hi Eugene, anyway if GOD is truly watching they will pay for their sins. She’s in a much better mood today and I hope this thing will not happen to any of us as it’s really scary.
All humans act!! What can we do except to pass the word around and be good ourselves and hope others will follow suit.. hope your mum has overcome the ordeal..
Hi Claire, she’s much better now although the bruises still hurt. Hope she’ll be up and running soon.
Is she ok? OMG, where did this thing occur? Pray that she is all well.
Wylane, she’s okay now except for the bruises. Happened in B’fields so take extra caution if you go there. Infact, just be careful wherever you go!
I can’t agree less with what you say…
what goes around comes around.. so just hang in there..
ive seen this happen to my mom during my school days, we used to wait for the school bus somewhere further from our flat, and some immigrants (i am sure they were) tried to snatch her necklace, but only got her earrings. Thank god nothing serious.
This country definitely needs to step up their laws and enforcements, otherwise we are only going down
I believe in that so I hope they pay for their crime.
I honestly shudder to think what will happen in the next 5 years the more they let these useless people in. And it looks to me and based on what other friends have gone through that everyone gets robbed in Malaysia, at least once! Madness!
Thank God that your mom is okay, she’s not hurt badly. For her and your mom’s safety, pls do not don on any gold jewelleries.
The slightest gold can easily be a temptation to all the fuckers thieves out there.
And please ensure that your mom well rested!
Hi Jessie, my husband and dad too have taken off their gold chain now. I don’t think it’s worth wearing jewelry (I know I don’t) and I’ve told her to shop at the mall instead of going to the market where you get all kinds of characters. She’s resting well, thanks.
hope your mom is ok now cas..dont curse others when u are angry…..take care of your mom ok??? it happens sometimes….and your mom’s life is more precious then the 20 years old chain,….
Hi Linda, she is okay now. Not cursing but just wondering why such things happen to good people. Guess it’s one of those things you can’t explain. Her life is definitely more precious. I’m just glad nothing bad happened to her. Cheers!
Sigh, same thing happened to my Mom last year, when she was crossing the road to go to the dentist near Bandar Sunway. Two guys on a motorcycle pulled her chain, it broke into pieces and fell everywhere. She got back parts of it. She was quite shaken – I felt so sad for her.
I really don’t know why anybody would rob somebody else. Some people are just greedy and too lazy to earn their money. They’d rather steal from somebody else. Less and less people wear gold these days, though. I only buy small items that look like costume jewelry. Don’t want to tempt anybody.
Sheesh, sorry to hear about it. I seriously think if you live in Malaysia and don’t get robbed once then you aint Malaysian. Hope she wasn’t badly hurt.
I dont wear jewelry at all, except for my wedding ring. And you’re right, less people are wearing gold jewerly thesedays, it’s just not safe anymore. So long your costume jewelry don’t resemble gold jewelry then you’re fine.
She was okay – just shaken. It’s never happened to her before – only to my grandmother. She was in the Pasar Malam about 10 years ago and two guys on a motorbike grabbed her chain. You know old people wear their old design stuff that is much thicker and not hollow and it really left a lot of scratches around her neck. She was very upset. They seem to really prey on elderly women – these stupid thieves. I think pickpockets prey on men instead.
In the early 2000s, the common robbery was where they would come to Indian houses, outside the gate and say that they want to give you wedding invitations. Then they’d throw chilli powder on your face and rob you. (What a waste of chilli powder no?)
They came to my house and rang the bell – my younger sister was so innocent and she opened the automatic gate because she thought one of the ladies resembled my aunt. Before they could come in, I told them that my parents weren’t around, so they can leave the card in the postbox. At that same time, our neighbour came back from being out and then these possible thieves looked a bit confused. Then I quickly closed the automatic gate (I had heard about this type of thieves before). They tried to convince me to open the gate and let them in but I said it’s alright and then I closed the door and the curtains and pretended not to care about them anymore.
They drove off and the next day my Dad installed this halogen lamp that shines at the gate and he used it everytime somebody rang the door bell. That light really scared my brother in law the first time he came to “meet the family”
I hope your Mom is feeling better. There are lots of desperate people around – and it doesn’t help that the govt does not provide much aid to jobless people. There’s no unemployment allowance, etc. from what I know.
Sigh, as much as I love being home, I must admit I feel 100x more insecure walking on the streets in KL. I grab my bag and hug it across my chest and I walk on the sidewalk on the opposite side of traffic. When I drive, I place my handbag on the floor where its not visible. So sorry to hear this. But yea, don’t wear any visible jewellery. I’ve heard one toooo many stories of snatch thieves already
I do exactly those things too but even then it’s no guarantee it wont happen to us. I guess it’s being at the wrong place at the wrong time too. People are just getting more desperate. I’ve known a few people who literally refuse to let go of their handbag and ended up with serious injuries so it’s best to let go sometimes. Anyway enjoy your time here okie!
Cas,
Thank God that your mummy not harm. We just have to be extra careful nowadays
Hey girl, yup thank god she wasn’t harmed in any way. Just have to be extra careful thesedays of our surroundings.
Glad that she is safe, damn those robbers! These are the times I hope we have professional police force like those in drama series.
I wish she can fully recover from the bruises soon. Take care.
Long, trust me, I hope the same too but as we know it, our force is not efficient. Thanks for dropping by.
Omg just saw ur post!!!How is she now???
Same thing happened to my elder sister in Sentul few years ago, while we were walking,no idea from where these 2 fellars on a motor sped rite in front of her and tried to snatch her handbag. The fucking fellar used his left hand so not enuff strength to use the force and my sister were pulling over here and he had to let go.My sis fell backward hitting her back and arm.The snatchers fled off, althou the handbag wasnt snatched but my sister was bruised at her back and bled quite badly on her arm!Even her punjabi suit sleevs ripped off babe..It all happened within seconds ,I could still picture it :s
She was recovering from the shock the whole week and only got better slow
And the snatchers were none other than our own nattanz..(hope u know this word
as u said, hope all these fcukers rot in hell!amen!
Hey babe, she’s okay now, but was definitely affected by it earlier. I would too la coz it’s very scary.
MY GOD, I can imagine the trauma your sis went through after that. All for the sake of a handbag which they have no idea what’s inside. Know that word and trust me, its always them la. Even the market guy told my mom it could be one of those who snatched her gold chain. Have to be extra careful no matter what and just let go for your bag if it happens instead of getting hurt. Bet it’s not like that in Paris huh? Hope they rot in hell too, grrr!
