We managed to see the dogs on Saturday. Found our way (this time around!) so I’m convinced my sense of directions rocks during day time. Yee-Haa!
Tucked in the quiet corner in Ara Damansara, this vet houses and treats stray dogs and cats before finding them a new home. A collaboration with the Independent Pet Rescuers which hubby and I sometimes support in terms of cash donation.
Chatted with Dr Kavita for a bit who was kind enough to let us roam around to look at the dogs. Was told that with dog catching now privatized, these morons are looking out for stray dogs/cats because for every animal they catch, a sum of money is promised to them. This practice is extremely vile and disgusting and in most cases, even dogs wearing collars are often bundled up and sent to the pound to be put to sleep. All for a few ringgit.
This is the dog that was put through the torture. We shall call him Goldie. Isn’t Goldie adorable?

Can you feel his pain?

Seems utterly depressed, but for a reason. However, I’m happy to report that he’s doing much better now in terms of his physical wounds. Judging from the size and his fur coat, he might be someone’s dog so I hope the owner will look for him, soon.
Goldie’s companion

A stray that was caught together with Goldie. Extremely malnourished and afraid of human contact. Hubby tried to touch him but he inched further away in his cage. Could have been an abuse victim in the pound perhaps, or maybe he likes women better.
If there’s one thing we could learn from stray dogs, it’s definitely the zest for life, despite the situation they’re in.
Take this guy for instance, he only has one eye BUT is the friendliest of the lot and a real charmer. SO full of life.

Also this guy – his body is covered with a severe case of mange BUT he just enjoyed our company (or was it the other way around) and is absolutely a lovely dog.

Here’s another cutie waiting to be adopted, probably mixed with a terrier of some sort.

But among all the dogs there, I fell in love with her. She’s super friendly, attentive and best of all, loves the camera.

See that? All 4 pictures taken of her and I got nothing but her full attention
Gosh wish I could take her home!!
And finally, one more up for adoption

Will do anything for good food. Really!
But more importantly I hope these dogs are able to get a new home soon coz they deserve to be loved and cared for.
Anyone up for adopting them?
