So Easy @ Izzi

19 Nov

Do women really put on weight after getting married? Well depends! If you have a hubby who loves food then yes I am living prove of that notion. Hmpf. I’ve gained quite a bit since getting married. And I don’t even have kids yet. I miss my old body!

Mothers, as much as you love them, they’re too direct sometimes don’t you think? My mom asked if she could give away my prom dresses the other day. Yea, they’re at least 7 years old. Told her absolutely NO but she pressed further saying she didn’t see a point to it since she was doubtful I could fit into them. :(

Moving on….the reason for my pickle

YOU! The reason why I’m putting on weight.

While he happily eats and has the time to jog it off, I don’t. Just because.

And then he joyously tempts me with the offers he can get with his CC like this: a 65% discount on all dishes in Izzi, located in Bukit Bintang.

Being someone who LOVES bargains, of course I said LET’S GO NOW!

Evil.

Vanilla milkshake RM8.80

Bruschetta – 10.80 (RM3.78 after Citibank discount)

½ Dozen Satay – RM17.80(RM6.23)

Macaroni Gratina – RM19.80(RM6.93)

Pollo Tropicale – RM38.80(RM13.58)

Tiramisu RM4.90 – no discount ok?

Total bill: With all that food, barely reaching RM50. Which normally doesn’t happen in the Bukit Bintang vicinity okay?

Thank you Citibank for allowing fatsos like us get a 65% (on main dishes) off when we spend more than RM100.

No Citibank card? Try this promotion instead.

Prices so cheap that you don’t really need to cook.

No?

Okay it was worth the shot.

But if there was one GREAT outcome of putting on weight, it’s the ample chest that any straight man would be glad of. So there. Hah!

Rescue To Rehome

17 Nov

We managed to see the dogs on Saturday. Found our way (this time around!) so I’m convinced my sense of directions rocks during day time. Yee-Haa!

Tucked in the quiet corner in Ara Damansara, this vet houses and treats stray dogs and cats before finding them a new home. A collaboration with the Independent Pet Rescuers which hubby and I sometimes support in terms of cash donation.

Chatted with Dr Kavita for a bit who was kind enough to let us roam around to look at the dogs. Was told that with dog catching now privatized, these morons are looking out for stray dogs/cats because for every animal they catch, a sum of money is promised to them. This practice is extremely vile and disgusting and in most cases, even dogs wearing collars are often bundled up and sent to the pound to be put to sleep. All for a few ringgit.

This is the dog that was put through the torture. We shall call him Goldie. Isn’t Goldie adorable?

Can you feel his pain?

Seems utterly depressed, but for a reason. However, I’m happy to report that he’s doing much better now in terms of his physical wounds. Judging from the size and his fur coat, he might be someone’s dog so I hope the owner will look for him, soon.

Goldie’s companion

A stray that was caught together with Goldie. Extremely malnourished and afraid of human contact. Hubby tried to touch him but he inched further away in his cage. Could have been an abuse victim in the pound perhaps, or maybe he likes women better.

If there’s one thing we could learn from stray dogs, it’s definitely the zest for life, despite the situation they’re in.

Take this guy for instance, he only has one eye BUT is the friendliest of the lot and a real charmer. SO full of life.

Also this guy – his body is covered with a severe case of mange BUT he just enjoyed our company (or was it the other way around) and is absolutely a lovely dog.

Here’s another cutie waiting to be adopted, probably mixed with a terrier of some sort.

But among all the dogs there, I fell in love with her. She’s super friendly, attentive and best of all, loves the camera.

See that? All 4 pictures taken of her and I got nothing but her full attention

Gosh wish I could take her home!!

And finally, one more up for adoption

Will do anything for good food. Really!

But more importantly I hope these dogs are able to get a new home soon coz they deserve to be loved and cared for.

Anyone up for adopting them?

Stop Animal Cruelty

12 Nov

In a perfect little world, you and I will be skipping ropes, talking to each other not giving a rat’s ass about the color of my or Obama’s skin or the way I look but I digress, this is not going to be a post on racism.

So moving on….

In a perfect little world, we will love all beings that were created and given the gift of life by GOD and that includes animals in every shape and size.

Sadly that isn’t the case. In our imperfect world, we are surrounded by some merciless inhabitants who have no compassion for our furry legged friends.

As I read this article in horror on Monday morning, I couldn’t help but shed some tear for the appalling situation the poor dog was put through and at the same time feel so damn angry at the low life bastards responsible for this.

How cruel can one be towards GOD’s creation that can’t even speak yet alone defend its self?

So we did what any animal lover would do and e-mailed the person to ask if we could donate some money for the dog’s treatment. The dog and his companion is currently being treated in Animal Health Center @ Ara thanks to Dr Gowri and Dr Kavita.

Off we went yesterday to the meet the vet, Dr Gowri in Subang Parade to hand over some cash. Lost our way so had to meet her there. But we will go visit the dogs on Saturday – will take some pictures and show em lots of love.

And if anyone else would like to give a helping hand to our helpless friend, let me know or you may call the vet directly at 03-78462388 to ask what you can do to help.

To the bastards responsible for the dogs’ predicament, I curse that you and your fucking generations to come will suffer for the rest of their lives. That you lead a life so bad and cruel that you acknowledge the fact that your life would be better off as a dog! Irony.
