Reading Books Again

23 Apr

I’ve always read books growing up, mainly horror and non-fiction being on the top list. I remember how back then I would sit in my room and finish up one thick book in just a day!! I’d rent the books at Rent-A-Book in Bangsar because it’s economical that way

When I started going to college, my reading habits dwindled to zero. University text books don’t count right? It almost felt like I had a bunch of other important things to do than pick up a book to read.

After getting pregnant, somehow the reading habit or rather thirst to read crept in and I’ve been buying some books online. I got them for around RM25 as compared to RM40 from bookstores :) A good investment I say.

I’ve already finished If You Could See Me Now (by CeceliaAhern) and Hidden, written by such an awesome author – Cathy Glass. She is a foster carer in real and her books are based on the true stories of various kids she fostered.

I’ve completely fallen in love with her books so much that I went and got 2 other books written by her.

I’m currently reading Cut – every chapter prompts me to read the next, which explains why I sleep quite late these days!

My mom also got me this baby book which I’ve been religious reading. Obviously I am also thankful that my mom will be there helping me when the baby comes :D

Reading is probably the best thing to do on a weekend!

Aww, I’ve picked up reading more these days. Sitting on the bus/train for my 45 minutes commute to work and back.

I’m currently reading Cecelia Ahern’s “The Book of Tomorrow”. Did you like “If you could see me now”? I thought it was quite nice.

It takes you 45 minutes to reach work?? Well guess the book does come in handy then, hehe.

Yes, I did enjoy it and I will definitely buy more of her books in the future since I can get it quite cheap.

    hey cas,

u should totally get the amazon kindle! i saw on oprah show and she loves it to pieces.. she’s a bookworm and she swears by the kindle..

    check it out

it can download e-books, newspapers, songs.. it can store up to hundreds of e-books.. plus, if u’re not sure of certain words, just hit ‘look up’ and the kindle will define the word for u

IF i am a bookworm, i’d definitely get the kindle.. haha

ps: u’ll save alot of trees with e-books ;)

Hey Nicole, I’ve read about this kindle thingy before and saw it on someone’s blog but honestly it does look a bit difficult to read on. I still prefer books although I know I wont be saving the trees, hehe. I’m sure they can forgive me since I’m not that much of a bookworm :p

Aunty! At the risk of you calling me a bookworm/geek once again (you did when i brought a book to read during our Pangkor trip) there’s an awesome bookshop where I get my books called Book Axcess in Amcorp Mall – amazing place & I love love love it! Books are less than RM20 for most titles :)

Yes, you are automatically a geek for bringing your book esp when you have plenty of alco and friends with you on a trip :p I think I’ve seen that shop before and I hope they have the latest titles – will check it out soon.
