Travel Plan 2012
14 Nov
Why yes, I’ve we’ve already sorted out our travels for next year, have you? *smug efficient face*
I looked back at my travel plan entry for 2011 and it seemed just so plain, considering we had itty bitty Baby Sairah around and had to limit our travels.
But what do you know, this year was surprisingly the year that we’ve traveled the most and the furthest just when I least expect we would
You know the saying on how good things happen when you least except it? Quite true sometimes.
A recap on travel:
February 2011: Maldives to celebrate our 3rd year Honeymoon (although technically we were already onto the fourth year!) Definitely a nice suprise gift from the husband.
May 2011: Bangkok to check out Madame-Tussauds
June 2011: Paris / Amsterdam & Hague – which was totally an unexpected trip!!
August 2011: Stayed in a gorgeous villa in Bali with Baby Sairah – this was certainly the start of our first family trip which was sooo much fun!
We skipped going to Langkawi and Terrenganu. We could have gone to Manila again with the hubby if it wasn’t for the lack of leave
In store for 2012 since I officially have 30 days annual leave next year :D Woot woot!
March – Perth, Australia. This will be a week’s holiday with Sairah, to slowly introduce her to her future ‘ home’. We have 4 months to teach Sairah to say eeellooo mateeeee.
April – the Miow land aka Kuching. This will also be Baby Sairah’s first local trip (Going to Ipoh doesn’t count, hmpf) Can’t wait to chop down on Mee Kolok and explore all things related to Sarawak
August – HONG KONG and Macau!! Because I’ve been wanting to go to HK like forever!! And now that my parents have visited both these places recently and sang praises for it, the feeling of wanting to be there has doubled!! And funny thing, while we were deciding which tickets to get first (Perth or Hong Kong), my baby girl literally went onggg kongg, ongg kongg THREE FREAKIN TIMES! Needless to say, hubby and I were shocked beyond words on how FAST Sairah can pick these words up. That, or baby girl really wants to go to ong kong like her mommie
October – Sandakan, Sabah. Looks like East Malaysia is quite the favorite this year for us
Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary get ready for Sairah to terrorize you!
All tickets have been booked save for HK/Macau and Europe - still waiting for a really good deal to crop up. We might be going to Hague again as the husband has a LONGER assingment this time. We’re still deciding which months he should be away. I”m just bummed that I won’t be able to stay that long but something is better than nothing, no?
If there’s any difference between last year’s travel and this would be how we’ve included Sairah into every one of it since she’ll be bigger and easier to handle.
We can’t wait!

wow! ur gonna hav a blast
OMG ur coming down to aussie, you should come to the gold coast or sydney to visit me :P
Thanks Abi. Haha yes we are invading OZ next year! We were actually so close to picking Gold Coast but the 8 hour flight put us off since Sairah will be coming too. But the next time we plan on heading there, will let you know for sure
yeah i guess it will be hard 8hrs, perth to malaysia is closer than perth to sydney lol maybe before u head down to oz again ill be coming to malaysia :P
Yea it’s only 5 hours from Malaysia to Perth. That’s why you’ll find alot of Malaysians in Perth, haha. I heard from Perth to Gold Coast takes about 5 hours, damn didn’t know OZ was THAT big. WOHOO, if you’re coming by this way, do email me and let me know and we’ll plan something out
Yay! I love travel plans. I’m bouncing in my seat here, at this end. I’ve heard wonderful things about Perth, but never been there myself. I’ve also never been to Hong Kong or Kuching — shame on me. I hear the food is amazing in Kuching and you have to eat heaps of the Hong Kong style food (my portion too), like the stuff they serve at Chef Loong in PJ. That’s one of my favourite restaurants. I love the Kataifi and avocado thingie, not to mention the durian stuff. *DROOOL*
Sairah is so lucky to get to travel so much. She’ll be one worldly lady in the future.
Ohhh if you’re coming to The Hague, let me know. Please? Maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle of Europe. Would love to have coffee with you .. since you’ve already ditched me once *pout*
ME TOO! Plus I always believe the early bird catches the cheap tickets. Well I’d be boucing here and there too if I got the chance to go to NY so I’m REALLY looking forward to that post of yours. Take lots of photos!! No excuses
Ah yes, the food in Kuching is suppose to be awesome so can’t wait for that. And I love HK food as well, Kim Gary is my favorite among a few others – they make exactly fusion food. Anyway I doubt HK will happen unless we can get cheap tickets, hotel rooms will cost an arm and a leg.
Well I hope at the very least she’ll have some memories of these trips when she’s bigger.
Of course, will let you know. Thinking of going for 3 weeks so fingers crossed we’ll meet someplace in the middle. Ooooooucccch I didnt do that on purpose but fineeee, coffee and cake on me :)How far is Norway from Hague anyway?
Hehehe, sorry, just being a brat
Technically most flights seem to go to Amsterdam. I’m assuming it’s a train ride from Amsterdam to The Hague. Oslo –> Amsterdam is about 1 hour 45 minutes, almost 2 hours.
Heh, I was bouncing over your plans
But yes, NY will be nice. Haven’t planned anything yet apart from a possible meet up with an old high school friend whom I haven’t seen in more than 5 years. She sat next to me for 3 years in high school so I thought I’d let her know that I’ll be coming nearby.
Yeah..I hope I’ll be in the photo taking mood. For some reason I haven’t felt like taking photos in awhile. It’s a bit weird. I shall tell the bf to kick me if I don’t take photos when in NY
I can’t decide if we should do the whole Times Square for NYE thing though, most people say it’s really cold and uncomfortable.
Three weeks sounds awesome. *fingers crossed* Really hope things fall into place for your Europe trip. Everybody should get a chance to see Europe. I wish it was cheaper to travel from Asia to here.
I’ve never been to Kim Gary, shall add it to my list of places to eat at next time I’m in KL. Speaking of which I can’t decide when to go home…
BRAT
Train ride from Amsterdam to Hague is about an hour. I’m really suprised that Oslo to Amsterdam is less than 2 hours??? Now I”m tempted to swing by Oslo, hehe. Well will see what the plans are, but most importantly hubby needs to decide his dates.
LOL well I hope you have fun meeting your ex classmate. Really impressed how she ended up working in NY. It’s really one of my top places to visit……one day one day.
You HAVE to be in the mood for photo taking, you must, for the sake of everyoneeeee. You will definitely kick your own self if you don’t coz there’s nothing like going through an album after your trip to make you happy.
YES you should do the whole Times Square for NYE. Have a nice dinner first then go for that, it’s once in a lifetime opportunity. Even standing there for 10 mins would do for me :)But I can’t imagine the insane crowd.
Kim Gary is pretty awesome, esp their spaghetti with curry, yummy I tell you!
Come for Diwali! So you don’t have to miss your family. If you book your flights now itself, surely it will be cheap isnt it?
Wow wow wow… I can’t wait. July is a nice time to travel :o). Amsterdam? I won’t go to Amsterdam yet then. I seriously thought of going to Amsterdam in December. Crazy I know but that was my earlier plan for Jove’s Birthday. Guess I will stay back and do some local tours instead.
I can’t wait either. Will update you accordingly. Still carefully planning la where to visit. Got 3 weeks so want to maximize it well. Plus anand needs to take time off too. Yes you can come to Amsterdam and Hague and we will go over to London perhaps? Ooo you can still go and celebrate Jove’s birthday there, or even Paris.
Yayaya… I am so excited here. Let me know. I will eye on any deals to Amsterdam from now on :o). You can always come to London. I can go London too. It’s only an hour by train (less than an hour actually).
