GariBar @ Bangsar Village
9 Aug
Baby girl had her first ‘bar’ experience some months back. Now don’t shoot me off as being a bad mother. This place is not like your full on smokey, noisy bar with drunk people though I’m told it becomes a club on weekends. In any case, those weekdays that we went, it was quite the opposite, with oldies sitting down for a quiet night out with good food and drinks. Plus there were other kids around too *defensive mode on* And to be honest I’ve put this on my new hang out place since we’ve been here three times already - a big feat as parents I say, haha.
And one of the reason for our venture there? Why of course, I bought vouchers online
I swear that’s the only time the hubby would want to venture and try out new restaurants – all at my expense and iniative of course! This time I got them from Myimart.com and I do think their dining deals are worthy, esp since they do feature prominent restaurants. Bookmark them
In total I bought 3 different set of vouchers from them. The first was a combo of 4 alcoholic drinks with a large pizza. All for a price of RM55! So we went there with mom to redeem it and of course both the hubby and mom polished off all the drinks.
So this is a bar eh? I could SO chill out here more often Ma. With YOU around too of course
Happiness is having a few drinks after work…….a rarity at its best.
A large Prosciutto E-Funghi pizza which was yummy! I think we substituted the beef with turkey.
We ordered two other dishes separately (contrary to popular belief, we are not that cheap, heh) too which turned out pretty good.
Penna spicy tomato with garlic olive oil and fresh tomato – I requested for a non-spicy version and baby girl just loved it.
Calamari which was equally good.
Mom’s day off from Sairah, lol, once in a while gotta take care of the nanny too if you know what I mean
Baby girl being distracted by those green coasters.
Sairah had a great time here, she was actually on her bestest behavior! She absolutely loved the music playing in the background and heck, even wanted to dance. You can check out my baby girl asking her daddie to dance here. Sadly for the husband, it doesn’t happen often you know……girls asking him to dance with them, har har! And here’s another short one - she insisted she get down from the baby chair and just started dancing away. Hmm, shudder the thought of an older Sairah asking mom and dad if it’s okay to hit the clubs….
Anyhos, this was the second time. We went with mom and BabySis on a Saturday afternoon and I forgot to take more photos on that day because Sairah was already cranky and tired from playing at Kidzsports!
This was their lunch deal on Myimart.com at the same place. In total I paid RM30 for two. But I was told by the manager that they do run lunch promos @ RM19 for a 2 course meal, weekends included. Which makes me wonder that in total I only saved RM10 for this deal, but no worries, I know now where to head for cheap lunch whenever we’re in the Bangsar vincinity
Her deer caught in the headlight photo, heh.
For starters we each had a caesar salad with parmesan & bread crouton! Honestly am not much of a salad-y person but I definitely enjoyed it. My mom, having previously used the same voucher I got her and dad insist this is one of the better salads she’s had in restaurants.
Mushroom soup
Forgot to take everyone’s lunch (we had 3 varieities in total plus I don’t think I would be a good food blogger) but this was mine and a personal favorite I would say:
The chicken & mushroom in creamy sauce with potato wedges! Gosh, there was just something about the sauce that hit the right notes. My only gripe? The chicken portion was rather small but don’t mind me, I am greedy like that.
Was I satisfied with these deals? YES!
Unlike its uppity restaurant just above it called GariBaldi (P.s: great place to dine for anniversaries, just saying), I reckon GariBar is a great place to unwind with friends to catch up on gossip and best of all, on a price that won’t bust your wallet.
If you’d like to give GariBar a try, you can check out Living Social’s deal here. I personally didn’t buy it coz they do offer a RM19 2-course meal which in my opinion offers a better selection of food choices.
Alternatively, I just got these three other deals which in my books seems like a great bargain, you can check it out here, here and here Don’t say I didn’t bother sharing it when you see the foodie photos on my blog later.
Yup, somebody’s on a foodie galore discount hunt and let’s just say I’m racking up alot of restaurant vouchers that are safely sitting in my car :D What’s your latest group-discount buy? Do share!

cute pics of the lil one as always
Haven’t bought any coupons lately
Thanks Nimi. That’s because you’re busy shopping on Zalora, lol

Haha yea those photos were a few months old, she was over-weight then, but lost some of it. She still is a lil over-weight but she’s healthy and that’s most important to me
Aiihh how I wish I wasn’t on a strict diet! I’d love to try these places out! Well, same here lah, I would have to do the initiative!
Like my grandpa used to say (or so claims mom), eat and let live
Biasa la men, but nvm, if it means trying new places then I will take the initiative, lol.

Wah you know the owner? Well yes, very satisfied customer
