Angel Dress For My Angel

8 Apr

SO, I obviously wasn’t going to let the husband gloat in the near future (yes I unnecessarily love to think about the future) on how he paid for the Pumpkin Patch dress. Never mind that the mother picked it out, never mind that the mother was the one who went all the way to the mall to get it, when that time comes, I am almost 110% sure that the husband would go around telling people that HE was the one who bought it for her (and conveniently leave out the other bits) IF someone ever paid the dress a compliment :D

Don’t you just hate it when people give compliments and credits to the WRONG person and this person does nothing whatsoever to rectify it? :p

Okay fine I”m reading too much into this.

Anyway, I have been eyeing this red dress for a few weeks now. Pauline added me on FB and I was flipping through the photos when my heart skipped a bit at the sight of this lovely deep red dress decked with angels. The tag said 2-3 years and I was thoroughly disappointed. Fast forward a few weeks later, I wondered if the dress could be altered to suit a one year old, but no, it’s best not to mess around with a smocked dress I was told. I was given another dress option by her daughter Val but I had my eyes set on the Angel dress. I was absolutely freaking sure that this baby is most definitely ONE of a kind.

So how?

It will be another 1.5 years before my baby can even fit into it. Buy or not to buy? If I want to get it later, it might be gone and that would just CONSUME me!!   After much thought, I decided the heart wants what it wants. Or rather the heart will haunt you till you give in and get it. True shopaholic disease.

That’s when I made the decision to just buy it.

(Val was kind enough to wrap it up, felt like it was my Sairah’s birthday)

Angel dress for my angel :D The dress is SIMPLY gorgeous. There are no words to describe it. There’s just something that evokes a happy feeling when I see this dress.  It’s a master piece and I LOVE it to bits.

Val assured me it’s of high quality – American cotton. And it’s an original design with one piece only and that her mother went through great lengths at designing it and doing the smocked part.

Honestly I wouldn’t really appreciate these little details but ever since working on my baby’s headband I now know how much of sweat and hard work goes into designing one of a kind pieces. Esp clothes. But I’m still not accustomed to paying an arm and a leg for it la.

Total damage: RM150 for it. Making this Sairah’s most expensive dress to date. WOOHOO.

Now eat that Sairah’s dad!!

On a different note, Sairah’s Subang Grandma recently got her this cute lil jumper from Pumpkin Patch during her trip to Melbourne.  It’s  WAY to big for her now (tagged at 12-18 months) so I can’t wait for the day where she’ll be able to fit into the angel dress AND jumper.

Ma, I”m obviously SWIMMING in it. Get it off.

Love the inner material design.

Ah well since she’s growing up so fast, she’ll be wearing these two in no time.

Thanks for mentioning the dress that my mum made. Hope you and Sairah both like the dress. You must remember to show Sairah wearing the dress when she fits into it !
