Borneo Adventure @ Kota Kinabalu
27 Jul
23rd July – 26th July 2009
Our mini getaway for the month of July
Which was supposed to be a week’s journey through KK-Labuan-Brunei but was cut short since we need our leave for another trip.
The start to this trip wasn’t a smooth one. Imagine waking up to a bad case of heavy menses and intense pain. Not a great thing to have during a vacation
And if things couldn’t get any worse, a call from the lawyer before our flight informing of our buyer from hell’s latest stunt got the other half all pissed off.
We arrived after a 2.5 hours flight and checked into 1City Hotel situated right smack in town. We were then ready to tackle what KK town had to offer.
KK town snippets:
You know all your pain and problems (in this case, a certain crazy ass buyer from hell) will go away when……
1) You get to witness mother nature’s greatest show and an absolutely breath taking sunset. This was taken from a moving cab, on the way to 1Borneo Mall.
2) When there is yummy food
@ the highly recommended Little Italy Pizza & Pasta where they make their own pasta!
Yup 2 days in a row because food was that good
The highly recommended Mario’s Pizza @ 1 Borneo
3) You get to sit and marvel at the ocean and the surrounding Islands. There’s just something about the air here that calms you down.
While taking in the beauty of the ocean in the hot sun, chowing down a bowl of cold cendol and onion rings helps
Alot.
4)And of course a little alcohol and clubbing NEVER hurts
(well except the wallet)
I was hoping drinks here would be dirt cheap like Labuan, but sadly that wasn’t the case. They had some Filipino bands with scantily dressed singers – eye candy for the men and hubby (yes it’s like being back in Manila all over again!)
Aaah, the happiness in having front row seat and near the bar top dancer
Clubs here aren’t that big in choice and I can’t say it was a pleasant experience because of some drunk kids who were rude to hubby. And it’s not nice to touch someone especially when I don’t know you.
The crowd in KK town was certainly rather colorful, and even the locals have a tough time separating the Indonesians, Filipinos, Kadazans, Bajaus and etc apart. But one thing for sure, you get more foreigners in Sabah than in KL because of what Sabah has to offer.
Conquering Mount Kinabalu…..next post!

Nice. I like the scenery- esp the one with coconut trees (the third one). Look so serene. Glad that it helps u to eradicate all the problems :o).
Oh ya, the food definitely looks good too.
Last but not least, oi… u big liar! U definitely did not gain weight. Cannot c at all!
Oh yes! I'm going to KK too, soon my dear, soon =)
Wylane – the scenery was awesome! Esp Mount Kinabalu.
Can't believe we had Italian food 3 days in a row, lol.
I'm telling you, it's the angle of the pic, I did put on weight
Brenda – I highly recommend you go to KK, you'll just love it. Enjoy!
*wub* the sunset pictar, so calming. hardly get to see a beautiful sunset here.
Jen – you're so right, hardly get to see a gorgeous sunset in KL
I know why u guys seat in the front row- to have a clearer view of your "Mini Me" :oP
LOL no that wasn't mini-me, it was in a different club. But yea, Anand was thrilled to sit righttt in front…., lol men. Then again, if only there were half naked buffed men, I'll be on the bar top next to them for sure, hahaha.
