Greenfield, Ubud Bali

26 Jan

Welcome to my humble crib in an artist village called Ubud in Bali.

Which humbly overlooked a rice field  and local farmers hard at work.

Where the sounds of frogs, ducks, insects and grasshoppers kept us company throughout the cold night.

We got to sit in our own patio outside our room

To savour a hearty breakfast  while enjoying our view

And at the same time ponder on the simplicity of life and how we often forget to enjoy moments like these

Enjoy the little things for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things – Robert Brault

Hey babe, yes I did! Took him out for a romantic dinner cruise. I have 21 days of leave, but my boss is okay with me taking advance leave, hehe. Lucky eh?

    Hello!

Looks like a fantastic couple retreat!

Nice to even have ducks keeping you all company through the night ;) Very different from the usual beachfront getaway in Bali.

Mind giving some insight on this place? What’s your overall opinion? Was just checking the Greenfield website out. Looks pretty good!

    Cheers,
    Eugene

Eugene, yes it was! But we only stayed for a night before going to Kuta. It’s a highly recommended place for those who just want something quiet and different from what Kuta has to offer.

We stayed in the cheaper room coz they were fully booked but you may check out the new and improved Greenfield bungalows, which are about RM250-300 a night. More modern looking and overlooks the rice field. You could probably just stay about 2 days coz there’s nothing much to do in Ubud at night and there’s no TV in the room, haha.

Hi Senior Eugene, hehe, actually we just employ the moto of ‘Just Do It’, haha. We book cheap flights on AA few months in advance and just go. I think it’s good to indulge in these things once in a while for sanity sake :)

Yea I thought hard about it and figured you wouldn’t like me calling you Eugene Jr so I just went with Eugene :)

Gosh, you have to go to Bali!! Do you know you can club for just RM30 a night there? It’s crazy! Quite an affordable place to go.

WOW! A nice crib in front of lush paddy fields! That’s AWESOME!! Can you see the sunrise and sunset from your crib??

I’ve only visited the paddy fields in Sekinchan, Kuala Selangor. I would LOVE to see similar tourism initiatives in Sekinchan.

Thanks for visiting for my blog :)

It’s awesome isn’t it? :) Didn’t get a chance to see the sunrise and sunset from the crib. Only got to do so on the cruise.

I love the photos on your blog, keep up the good job!

hi> read about your stay in Greenfield UBUD> I intend to stay there with hubby and two kids. Is the location ok, easy access to food, shopping, etc? Would it be ok with no TV? We have four nights?!! THANKS :D

    • TheMissusBlogs 18. Feb, 2010 at 12:35 pm #

      Hi Rachel :)

Well the location is good because there are nice restaurants and spas (all walking distance) so there’s no issue there. As for TV, I’m not sure how your kids would react to that, hehe. The place can be very quiet and calm at night.

For shopping, you might need a van to take you around and on a tour too coz it’s too far to walk. You may email Pak Wayan at wayan8181@live.com or check out his site http://www.balipartadrivers.com/ for his service. It’s about RP300-350 for a van, whole day.

To be honest, 4 nights in Ubud might get a bit boring. You might want to go for 2 nights instead and then go to Kuta for another 2 nights as there are more activities there eg: shopping/restaurants. But it depends on you if you prefer some place quiet and if you can stand the hustle and bustle of Kuta.

Do you intend to stay on a Saturday in Ubud? If I’m not mistaken they have a no electricity policy every Saturday from 6-10pm so you might want to check with the hotel first. Btw the hotel also has a newer wing which is quite modern looking and nice so maybe you could get them to send you pictures :) Any other questions you want to ask, just ask away :)
