My husband, (the one that behaves like he’s pregnant sometimes) had some strong cravings for Malacca food. That’s when we decided to make an impromptu trip with my cousins in tow. It has been years since they’ve set foot in Malacca, I guess that’s maybe because they’re fortunate enough to explore Argentina and South Africa instead - lucky buggers!!!
The boys were happy to be in Malacca for a foodie trip.
We made our first stop for lunch @ Jonker Walk to savour chicken rice balls. Although they were a few other more famous stalls, the long queue and heat put us off. I don’t know how some people do it.
Nothing like a bowl of fatty cendol to wash it down with
We drove around to look for a hotel, and finally settled for this dingy RM68 a night room. We got what we paid for alright! The only advantage was the location, which was a 2 minute walking distance to the mall.
Then it was off for some Portuguese seafood dinner and from the picture you can see the excitment on their faces!
Last but not least, sweet and sour crabs!!
Oh you know the food is good when he does this………
Total damage including fruit juices – RM115, cheap eh?!
This is the sheer look of happiness after he got his FIRST foot massage. Wait, more like from the fact how the masseuse was busy chatting him up for 1 hour!
The next day, before we left, we decided it would be Baba Nyonya food. We headed to Cottage Spice which is probably our third time there coz the food is that amazing.
CHICKEN RENDANG – can you sense my excitment?
All gone folks…..all gone!
Last but not least before we said our good-bye to Malacca food – a bowl of cendol, again!
Yup it’s pretty obvious that we love having a foodie trip in Malacca. Thinking of exploring food in Kuantan next!
